I have heard Ashes in the Snow! I'll check out more of their stuff, I had no idea that was by Mono. So, soundtrack types? Like X-Ray Dog and E.S. Posthumus?
Oh, doll. I have such a wide taste in genre, it would be impossible to pick one I like best.
Some of the few bands I do hold a special place for include: Motion City Soundtrack, Mindless Self Indulgence, Kate Nash, Laura Marling and MIA. Among others.
I'd adore to record hunt, but we only have a terrible Best Buy around here. Though, about an hour drive from my house is an old thrift mall where you can get old CDs and even eight tracks! And going towards my hometown a few states up, there used to be this wonderful recycled CD store. And I spend hours in there looking for stuff. Sadly, it closed. I want to open one someday, actually.
Even if I find it on the internet, it's rewarding. Seeing as music is something I truly enjoy.
Usually. I do the obvious. Look at the recommended on Last.Fm or Absolute Punk. Then I read reviews on To Start a Fire. OR if I feel really ambitious, I type up something on the search engine on Youtube and type "lyrics" behind it. Or, look up my favorite band on Wikipedia and see what bands opened for them or they have worked with.
As you can see. I have very odd ways to find music. But I know so many bands. I hope that...helped?
