Hello! I'm a 24 year old from Brisbane, Australia who has fallen in love with Japan and its culture. I'm currently living in Japan teaching English!
When I was a little girl (4-5 years old), my dad who loved Studio Ghibli bought all of the movies and my younger sister, my mum, him and I would always sit down and watch them together, in both Japanese and English. Back then however, I was too young to understand the concept of anime and I didn't realise that it is what the movies were. I had no idea that there existed this whole other world.
Years later, when I was 11-12, I watched my first anime series which aired on ABC 3 called Vampire Knight. I fell in love instantly and suddenly the world of anime opened up to me. All these series which I had never known existed became known to me. I finally understood what I had been watching while I was younger.
From there I continued to explore and watch more series. I fell deeper in love with not only anime, but the Japanese culture itself, and I believe I shall continue to do so.
Anime has given me so many precious memories and I have made so many new friends, it has made me laugh until I can't breathe, cry until my heart aches and everything in-between. Anime shall forever hold a special place within my heart.
