No need to apologize, I can be pretty slow to reply myself as you can see.
I hope your Christmas and New Year were good and that you got something good off Santa. haha
I have recently bought Akira on blu ray.
As for the manga, I notice they have released a big boxset of hardcover books that cover the entire series, I am tempted to buy it but it is pricey.
I imagine that there are a lot of books in the Neon Genesis Evangelion series.
I am very interested to see how Tokyo Ghoul Re goes myself, at least we won't have to wait too long as it is supposed to begin airing in March.
There are a few other series beginning in March that I am waiting on as well, it should be a good month for anime.
I do plan on getting to the OVAs I have just been a bit slack and all over the place when it comes to anime lately.
I think the thing that put me off watching them initially was the fact that they focused on other characters and that there were no more episodes to go onto after them.
I can certainly understand not having the time to watch the shows as they are airing, plus it can be good to wait and see how each show is received before watching it yourself, saves watching something that turns out to be garbage.
My mother notices Akira on SBS one night when I was a kid and told me it was on, I don't think she knew just how adult oriented it really was. haha
That screening would have been awesome, now I'm also jealous.
I also have never read the manga but it is something I should do eventually as it is supposed to cover much more ground in the story department although that is just what I have heard.
There are a few manga series' that I would like the physical copies of but I already collect so many things that I don't think they will come anytime soon.
Tokyo Ghoul is one of the anime that recently got me back into anime in a big way after years of only dabbling here and there.
I think Kaneki is a very relate-able character, hit is very easy to put yourself in his shoes and to empathize with him.
I am not past the season 1 content with the manga yet but I have heard the anime deviates from the story somewhat in the manga.
I am wondering now that they are adapting Re, are they gonna retcon season 2 and pretend it never happened or just try and make it work despite season two's changes to the story.
I liked Nishiki and Ayoto a lot also, Ayato in particular is very interesting to me, the Gourmets obsession with Kaneki makes me laugh with how intense it gets at times, especially early on.
I am up to issue 52 with the manga so I still have a long way to go with it.
I still have to get to the OVAs.
Howdy. :)
Thanks for accepting my friend request, how's it going?
I noticed both Akira and Tokyo Ghoul on your top 10 list.
Akira was the first adult oriented anime I saw when I was younger and I have watched it a bunch of times since, it is really good.
was Akira recommended to you by someone on here?
Tokyo Ghoul on the other hand I only discovered about 6 months ago and I fell in love with it, I didn't like season 2 quite as much but I am still psyched for season 3.
Who is your favorite character, as weird as he is I really like the gourmet.
