My ranking is based 99% off of subjectivity—focally the enjoyment I derived from my time with it. While the pre-selected words associated with numbers on MAL are an accurate description of my rankings, here is a more elaborate way of reading my ranks:
10 — Cream of the crop masterpieces. This is reserved for anime that has changed my headspace and are amongst my favorites. They probably blew my mind watching it.
9 — Phenomenal and probably missed a 10 due to a factor of not blowing my mind, the subject matter not being my *favorite*, or a small flaw edges it out of being a masterpiece.
8 — Solid content I enjoyed thoroughly.
7 — This is a middle ground. Lots of shows here deserve to be bumped up a number but have some horrendous issue that ruined the overall experience for me at the end of the day, but when you're in the meat of the show it's better. Or they just fail to be interesting enough to reach an 8/I'd much rather watch something I rated an 8 over this.
6 — Shows I didn't love but have one interesting idea or prominent trait/area of production that edges up a point from being a 5.
5 — Inoffensive, but my life wouldn't be any different if I never experienced this.
4 — Uninteresting & boring or I did not have a good time watching.
3 — Things I disliked without any redeeming qualities.
2 — Who on earth would spend their time watching these shows willingly?
Greetings esteemed disapprover of the widely known anime Neon Genesis Evangelion. I am writing this comment in order to inform you that I deeply appreciate your intention to send a friend request on the website "myanimelist.net" to myself in spite of the ruthless debate we have both engaged in on the messaging and voice chatting app known as Discord, in your honorable server. I hereby wish you a good day and I sincerely hope we can put our differences aside in our potential endeavors in spite of you clearly not possessing an objective opinion. May you have a wonderful week, sir.
