Nice. It's pretty consistently good to the end, IMO, though it changes things up a lot.

Heya! Innocent Rouge finished a few months back, and it's a great second half for Innocent. Not sure if you ever read The Climber/Kokou no Hito, but Innocent's by the same artist, with all the same neat art and introspection, but a much more fully fleshed out main story to go along with it. Rouge can get pretty weird sometimes, but I liked those weird parts.

Not sure if you ever got around to finishing the Girls' Last Tour anime or what you thought of it. The manga's mostly pretty similar in quality, except that all the best stories happen after the anime finishes, so there's a lot of quality content in there.

Just now realizing that you said anime/manga instead of just manga lol...

Chainsawman's an excellent followup to Fire Punch. Will probably mostly give you the same sort of feelings, I think?

Eizouken, Akudama Drive, Sleepy Princess, and Bofuri were my favorite anime from last year. The first two were real interesting shows, while the latter two are quality cute comedies.

Ascendance of a Bookworm was real nice. It's an isekai, but there's something super moe about a woman reincarnating as a 5 year old girl who's so sickly she has to be carried around everywhere. It has a nice science focus too, without feeling as child-oriented as Dr. Stone (which I still think is great).

The last one I'll mention is Moriarty the Patriot. It's kinda a scheme-y revenge-y type of show with a brilliant protagonist, though a bit more realistic than most of those. A character gets introduced later on who I don't like much, but most people like him, so I think you'll enjoy the show in general.

Hope you like a few of those!

I went ahead and read his older series, Onnanoko ga Shinu Hanashi too. It's pretty different (though one of the girls is similar to Hibiki in some ways), but I liked it a lot. Had a unique storytelling style.

Also wow, I just realized that the author is the former hentai doujin artist TTT/Miharu. What a bizarre coincidence.

OMG how could you do this to me!? I finally went ahead and read it, and it was fantastic! And it's not done yet ;_;. Every chapter made me want to read more, and now I'll be left waiting all the time for however many years until it finishes. It definitely seems like it has the potential to go on for years to come, too, which is mostly a good thing, since it's maintained its quality the whole time. Hibiki's a super great main character, and while I'm not sure how I feel about Ryotaro, at least he hasn't had the chance to do anything too villainous yet, and the rest of the cast is very good too. Think I'd have to say it's the best thing I've read since the good parts of Fire Punch.

Seven children wasn't my favorite, though some of the stories were quite nice. I have Terrarium now and will check it out soonish (haven't been reading a ton of manga lately).

I hope you still read the Majikoi VN (or have you already started it?). It is infinitely better than the anime.

WHY WOULD YOU DROP HORIZON

Thanks for the Ai no Shintairiku rec. It was pretty good, if flawed.

I was quite interested in the concept, and the main character. I'd actually wanted to read it for a long time. And I did end up loving both, so it all worked out.

Plus there was a Keima doujin I wanted to TL so I figured I should read the original manga first.

<_<

Ha ha, you watched the Canvas 2 anime? I thought you'd stick to the VN for something like that.
darkmac Aug 6, 2011 2:42 PM
Ah, makes sense. I thought you watched some of those pretty recently though, so I'm surprised you're reviewing them.
darkmac Aug 5, 2011 7:00 PM
What's up with all the shows you're re-watching?
Torii-chan Apr 3, 2011 5:21 AM
To each his own, no? But I'm always trying to break out of my "box" and experience new styles!

I took quite a few of your upper categorized animes into my que. I'll have to see if they're really great..
