SH2 is my favorite as well, with SH1 being second favorite in the franchise. It does lose to SH2 story wise, I agree, but I feel like it was scarier. I'd say first 4 games are good and then it all went downhill for me. A lot of people hate on 4, but I really enjoyed it. I think you'll like 3, since it's a continuation of 1!
Liking Persona also makes you cool in my book. ^^
