Annie had more development than Mikasa and she was in the ice for over half the series.

I think people like her because shes badass and pretty, but those two things about her aren't personality traits. She's a bad character, horribly written, and barely does anything during the whole show.

Only thing she could offer is her being an obvious physically strong character. For a well written she's far from one.

No way, she isn't even the best female in AOT, I agree she is powerful but only bc she is an ackerman, her arc is only about separation from Eren as the author said and it makes him feel pity for her, Historia, freckled Ymir, Gabi r well written characters, and well developed, but Mikasa stayed the same

No. The biggest argument I've seen for why people think Mikasa is the best female character in shounen is that she's not sexualized. But honestly, it doesn't improve the quality of her character. And even then, just because she doesn't have big boobs or have parts of her body exposed doesn't mean it's a less superficial way of appreciating a female character. Maybe it is for girls with body insecurities or guys with a strange abhorrence for well-endowed women. But they're only appreciating her the lack physical traits that most people typically find attractive in women than her actual writing as a female character. I mean, as far as her personality goes, she doesn't have much depth to her other than the love she shows for Eren and the concern she displays for Armin as her childhood friend. She could really care less about everyone else. And there are plenty of badass female characters in anime and fiction as a whole to where Mikasa only just adds to the list. She didn't define the category.

Oh, does Mikasa even have a personality? I thought she was just a strong body and a ghost that follows Eren, a ghost without complexity, thought, or feelings, and that's really unrealistic in a female character whose nature is full of emotions. Anyway, why don't they write complex and wonderful female characters in anime, a character that makes me unable to forget her or affects me deeply? This is really disappointing. Why are you all silent and satisfied with this, girls?
