Lots of lead up before a big payoff at the end so the number of pages per episode is often quite inconsistent and often blasts through the intro and then takes its time for the ending. They can take a single battle chapter, which is usually at the end, and animate it for an entire episode or they can take Hanekawa's letter chapter and boil it down to a few minutes of nothing when in reality it is 44 minutes of audio when they put it on the disc as a bonus. The series composition director really has to pick and choose. So far this season I have been able to predict the ending chapter of each episode quite easily. In many respects it isn't how many chapters or pages they cover, it is how many major events they can cover. They want to end it at a good spot. Machine Doll does the same thing while Golden Time juggles everything... just depends how they want to do it. Honestly there was enough material for all 5 arcs to have been 6 episodes. They will just be skipping less in Koimonogatari if they do it in 6. But I guess we'll know after episode 5 ends. If this is fb, I'll 'like' your post. |

Probably not that exciting no matter how they'd animated it. Just wish they'd included a few more important lines. I do applaud Nisioisin though, he must have known it would be animated when he wrote Neko Shiro and yet he still chose to write stuff which would be quite obviously awful to animate. Shaft must have been cursing him loudly and often this season.... Also if they'd put in the that letter it would have been 2 episodes of Black Hanekawa just reading the letter.. But imagine how long we'd have to wait for each "2nd season" book to be animated if they were handled the same as Bake, Nise and Neko. But really when you look at page counts, Bake is two big books, about 900 pages so in fact 15 episodes is about 60 pages/episode which is about 4-5 episodes for the shorter books of second season. The page pacing has been quite similar and all of them have skipped quite a bit. Kabuki was robbed somewhat as it is longer and still got just 4 episodes. Koimonogatari's final 3 episodes covering 110 pages only will be about the least skipping they've ever done in this series, not even 40 pages per episode. So they really could do it in 2 but then what would the final episode be? Guess we'll find out soon enough. |

This is off topic, but I wondered one thing: I'm finding (as a native English speaker) that I can't stand to listen to anything except the Japanese, even when the Eng dub is highly rated. Is this odd for Eng speakers? Maybe it's because I grew up on opera... |

As a non-English speaker I can't listen to (and sometimes even read) anything translated (if of course I know the original language; otherwise I'll prefer English). For instance playing games in anything other than English is a nightmare. For anime it is obviously Japanese. p.s. I hope you watched all previous -monogataries before this one, otherwise you will spoil half the fun. |

| every OP this season has been impactful and important to its arc. This one, not so much, but it compensates by being overly fucking awesome. Ononoki cameo had me in tears. Kaiki continues to be the best narrator yet. |

| Shit, that was a good episode. That opening... too much lol. And Ononoki was hilarious this episode, she actually seemed intimidated by Kaiki. xD Also was pretty cool seeing Kaiki do a little wall climb there... he is pretty awesome this time around. Never would I have expected him to shift into the main character, which is why I love this series, always doing unexpected things like this. A little late to mention this, but Kaiki's theme always reminds me of Luigi's Mansion... probably the same instrument used. And for once, with that winter outfit I didn't think Senjougahara was Hanekawa at first glance (since she cut her hair). Anyway, damn time to find out what's in that closet. |

| Wow that OP 70/80s style mixed in with current days, so nostalgic and sloppy yet fantastic to see not to talk about the two singing like a pair of drunk cats at a karaoke bar xD What happened next was just as epic as usual with the captivating dialogues from Kaiki with Senjougahara resulting her tearing up of happiness Which really melted my heart The following encounter with Ohnonoki was weird when she was trying her new antiques of "Yeah Yeah, Peace Peace" Strange, but amusing at the same time with hints of Starbucks commercial Kaiki is starting to grow me on as a brilliant character as a con-artist taking jobs from two side with conflicting interest. I'm afraid it's not going to end for him, it ended with a cliffhanger at Nadeko's secret closet |

Kaiki have such an easy excuse in mind to deceive Nadeko dunno if it will work. Ononoki show up and with a new "peace" persona but it was quickly stopped by Kaiki, he was give 3 million yen to step out of this mess as Gaen is fixing the town ? So that closet trouble's me with the face Kaiki made when he opened it up. |

| How terribly amusing it is to see things from a perspective of someone who used to be a major antagonist. Kaiki is both unrepentant and amusing to see. Loved how he pretended to pull out of the job just so he could get the 3 million yen yet keep his objective of eventually meeting Suruga. Now that's a conman for you... So the 10000 yen notes he dropped in were real. I guess that's part of the process where he aims to win the trust and confidence of Nadeko early on... an investment of sorts for the con job to succeed better. Dat opening. The old school vibes were strong in that one... unexpected but a nice touch. Not a fan of what it implies though. Unexpected is definitely the key term for this entire arc season. |

It was waaay too hilarious, I had difficulty breathing xD Ononoki is slowly raising into my favorite Monogatari character chart. Lately, she's just too cool. Her new catchphrase was just so great the way she was saying it : ''YEAH! Peace, peace.'' I wonder what impact his betrayal on Gaen offer will have. I never thought we would see Sengouhara cry someday. So she really does have an heart? That's truly surprising. What isn't surprising though is Araragi trying to save Nadeko :P Nadeko is always so depressing to see. She look just completely crazy, she have lost all her sanity left, now she's playing with snakes. |

| I liked the OP a lot. This arc is really entertaining to me. It is nice to see Senjougahara again, and her conversations with Kaiki are electric. Also, I never thought I would like Kaiki that much, but this arc is making me reconsider. His perspective is really interesting. Some people are saying this arc is boring, but I think the previous arcs were way more boring than this one. Shinobu time was a struggle to get through. NADEKO DAYO! |

| My prayers have been heard. That opening is perfection (that purposefully low resolution for the retro parts tho). Also Kaiki breaking into Nadeko's house Altaïr-style was gold. Ononoki is so annoying even the other characters can't stand her. Wonder why I don't mind her at all. |

| Wow! For once I fell asleep following the dialogues, about the narrative a bit more eventful. Kaiki remains a myth with his jokes, but this time the merit of a rhythm so bubbly narrative, is due to the contribution given by Hitagi and Ononoghi-chan, peace peace! XD The plot is becoming more immersive, drawings and animations excellent. Nice to see and hear the new opening. Stark700 said: [Peace~ Yay! |
