| Definitely less sad episode than the first one. Nice hairstyle, Itsuki. I got some strong Boys Love vibes from his visit, lol. Kinoko Inu eating melon bread was cute. He also managed to make Hotaru laugh with his silly behavior. It's good to see Hotaru a bit more happy. |

| Very refreshing to see someone else other than those 2 bot like users, starting a anime discussion.. In episode 2 of Kinoko Inu, the mushroom dog’s silly antics finally bring a smile to Sensei’s face, hinting that her stupidity are intentional efforts to help him overcome his grief. The eccentric mohawk man, a top university mushroom researcher, adds another intriguing piece in the anime with his flamboyant personality and romantic feelings for Sensei. The mystery surrounding the mushroom dog appears to be misinterpreted by Sensei, based on the dog's expressions. Meanwhile, Sensei’s childhood friend and editor tirelessly supports him, both in his personal life and his work, proving herself to be a true friend and an exemplary editor. This anime is do heartwarming and beautifully depicts the rebuilding of relationships and the joy of finding new friendships, emphasizing the importance of living in the present and not dwelling on the past. It’s truly gratifying to see Sensei surrounded by such genuine friends and the charmingly peculiar dog, or mushroom!  |

| Kinokoinu is a bit of a jerk really. He only gets a pass by me for not being human or that smart and having good intention. I could totally see a mycologist looking like Yara. It's really a niche interest to be into mushrooms. |

| PSA: don't forget the after-credits scene. Ties the episode together. This might be a deadpan comedy? The way Hotaru slowly rolled down the hill was so strange and silly-looking. Anyways, I can feel the creator's gentle love for dogs through the screen. Really appreciate it, it's different from the usual "AHHH so cute" kind of vibes when it comes to dogs. |
| Kinokoinu...sure is weird alright, a mushroom pup that doesn't drink water, but also eats (tons of) melon bread at the same time... Komako and her fellow research institute member of Itsuki Yara coming to see Hotaru and inspect Kinokoinu, the latter falling in love and in solidarity with human actions, Kinokoinu sure learns quick. With Yara joining Hotaru even on a normal pet walk and learning of his tragedy-filled past, images of his old dog surfacing within Kinokoinu that has it being all jealous to kick him down a grass slope, that being its way to comfort Hotaru is a slow burn. And in spite of his exposure to media, Kinokoinu wanting to see what Hotaru is up to, its usual plant silly antics making him laugh is a sight of change. Kinokoinu is slowly making Hotaru change... |
