The eighth series in the Yugioh franchise. Not only does it continue the terrible Rush Duelling from Sevens but every single episode is designed to insult the audience’s intelligence with plot holes, logic holes and just in general childish writing. Not to mention, this series has no problem creating massive time paradoxes and just shrugging them off as though they’re not a problem. And a protagonist so childish and naive, he can’t even play the game properly at the beginning.

If you are one of the people who like this show, congratulations, you like a show made by people who think you are an idiot.

Every single anime in the idol/music genre suffers from the same irrefutable problem without exception; they become overpowered by overly dramatic drama. And this anime is no exception. Not only was Sakiko and Ave Mujica the worst part of It’s MyGo but to be given their own spinoff was utterly stupid, considering none of the characters are likable. For some bizarre reason, this series tackles DID and wealthy family BS. Not only that, but Ave Mujica’s performances are these bizarre masked overly theatrical stage plays. It’s pure nonsense and I recommend you delete this from your lists as fast as possible.

I am someone who grew up watching Digimon Adventure, Digimon Tamers and Digimon Data Squad, so I decided to revisit this series in Japanese for my 1,300th after previously having revisited Adventure and Adventure 02. This series was way worse than I remembered. By trying to tackle more mature themes like death and government incompetence, it just drowns under that darkness from day one and can’t pick itself back up. Not to mention the fact that they mixed up their own terminology and the protagonist is frankly pathetic. If anything, the best thing about this series is that they somehow managed to get Masako Nozawa ...

This is the best of the Beyblade Burst series (so far) but that is a pretty low bar to clear. Whilst the vast majority of this season was about the nostalgia of the previous seasons, bringing a bunch of old characters back for a second shot at glory, this series did once again provide good Beyblading action. But what really holds this show back is a one note villain who is obsessed with his own strength and twin protagonists who don’t get along even though they are both idiots, one more than the other. This series could’ve been so much better… if the writer just ...

Sakamoto Days (Anime) add
I’ll be honest, I went into this not expecting to like it because there had been a string of overhyped Shonen Jump anime (Chainsaw Man, Kaiju No 8, Dandadan) so it was actually quite surprising when I ended up liking it. I’ll be honest, the plot doesn’t always work on a logical level, there are plot points, especially when it relates to organized crime, where it’s not really thought through. But other than that, this show is really at its best when it leans into the absurdity of its premise and fight sequences. It’s actually quite nice to see a series I didn’t expect to ...

An anime that is practically a hentai… but with a non hentai specific plot. It comes across at first as kind of an average one and done fantasy anime… then it gets into the plot lines of the heroine having a beastiality kink and she wants a cat to “have his way with her” (and that’s a nice way of putting it). Plus it then develops into this kink being shared by a harem… surrounding a cat. The rest of the plot is aggressively medium so it’s pretty forgettable but the decision to have an “uncensored version” doesn’t really make sense as it’s only a ...

Well, this was an improvement on the previous season, but not by much. Whilst it definitely did help that Aiga wasn’t a main character in this season, it’s really depressing that the head writer for the Beyblade Burst generation has no idea how to write for actual human beings; he can write good beybattles but when it comes to the human characters, you just want to beat them with a baseball bat, especially the protagonists and the nonsense narcissist villains. And it’s a real shame too because the writer has a lot of experience writing for the Pokemon anime. I don’t really have it in ...

Not going to lie, this was a rough one. The writer for this Beyblade generation still has not figured out the essence of good writing. Firstly, the new protagonist is a narcissistic arrogant cocky little dbag who seems to have no passion for Beyblade, he only just wants to be invincible… like a five year old. This makes his resonance susceptible to corruption because he’s so obsessed with winning and being the best, it gets down right annoying. Then, just when they start making progress in developing his character, he starts to revert back to that horrible version from the beginning that is so hate-able ...

After Legion Mate was so apocalyptically bad, I had to take a four month break from watching through Cardfight Vanguard to cleanse myself of that fourth season. But unfortunately time away did not make this season any better. Not only were the characters and the plot of this season exceedingly tiresome (the villains are a brainwashed cult lead by a narcissist with purple eyeliner and an equestrian area on the roof of a skyscraper), but they don’t even properly show off the fights in this season, it just cuts to random “important moments”. Not to mention this new gimmick of Striding which is incredibly dumb ...

I knew this season was coming from what I could gather from the source material. It’s the middle part of this season that drags it down because this season is all about the fanaticism of the Freya Familia and how Orario suffers because of Freya’s selfish whims. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka knows how to put in a great performance even if at one point in the season I nearly turned against Bell. I’m not really a fan of memory manipulation stories because they can be picked apart by thinking logically for ten seconds. But this season does have some good action sequences and it is encouraging to ...
