This is definitely the second best movie in the franchise. When I say movie 3 fails to be mature and entertaining at the same time, I think this movie and movie 1 succeed where it failed.

Happy Heroes is unique in its ability to write complex and heart wrenching familial dynamics, and I think it shines well in this movie around its theme of the lunar new year. There's also discussion around the depression people fall into when they decide to scrap their dreams to instead chase mundane lives. Is it better to live freely and be hurt, or live safely but have a meaningless ...
