3rd act takes a couple points off by itself

the most lukewarm sports anime I've ever watched, i don't think my pulse went over 90 even once;
- characters with random malicious intent
- esoteric explanations about football plays

it took me 3 tries to get pat the first few episodes

- would enjoy it more probably if i knew more about baseball; not knowing what goes and what doesn't and what to expect from a pitcher or other positions, i can't feel the magnitude or relevance of certain events on the field; in comparison, haikyuu does an amazing job of not only introducing you to the sport and positions, but also to present strategies so that when something important happens, you the viewer KNOW it's important without having to be told so
- imo poorly constructed 'emotional' moments that lack nuance, the sad dramatic music feels forced; couldn't relate to or sympathize with the mc's psychological predispositions

the action was the lowest point of the first season so more focus on it in this season was detrimental for me

still feel quite alienated by this series; split personality is a bit icky to me; Kokutou's astronomical levels of delusion are super relatable

incredibly basic pieces of wisdom, most appropriate for young teens learning about the world, presented in an almost painfully straight-forward, unimaginative, unnuanced manner; a sort of mushishi & acca-13 preachy lovechild that fails to do deliver in either aspect; highlight - ep 12 & 13

where Motoko speaks the thoughts right out of my brain

liked this A LOT more than I expected to; sooo gorgeous I could cry

the exact feeling of playing this game as a child; still, the ending undermined the suspense
