RIP, wonder what he would've thought of the new Yotsuba chapter with Osaka in it.

Are the NGE movies much different from and better than the TV series, Rashugun?

Happy Birthday, Rashugun! Are you Bulgarian? I remember you said your birthday is a national holiday in your country and my curiosity led me to wikipedia-sama xD

Well, the story seemed it was about to reach the climax but it was a fake-out so it could last a bit longer ^_^

Drugzy | Aug 30, 2016 2:51 PM
In a year? Like most monthly series it moves rea~lly slowly and it is supposed to end in volume 22.

Hayashida just doesn't seem to be able to end the series but it's still awesome ;D

Which part? Time travel is definitely not an original set-up. The microwave is though (and also funny, of all the things to choose) :P and many other things but I wanna hear yours first ^^

Weird enough, this time it seems like I'm the one who is not easy to satisfied, haha. I agree with everything you said, but I just can't ignore the negatives (be it objective or subjective) and that's why I gave it an 8. It really achieves big time on other fronts for me, but my nitpicky and logical nature, though, demands, as I watch the series, explanations, for example how the pager works and why the hell would that boy really turn into girl when our beloved main character was just so reasonably debunking that eating meat/vegetable pseudo-scientific crap before that?! And there's one or two contrived situations + plot holes but I can't remember now (rewatch is in order, I guess).

However, as far as I know it's actually the anime that fails (or just can't, given the limited number of episodes) to adapt and do the light novel justice since the light novel actuallys tackle all the explanations according to Internet. So I can sympathize and understand that it's due to the medium and not the story itself. Still, those bug the hell out of me. But yeah, it's definitely in my top 5 ever. The sheer feeling I had when watching it is unforgettable. So engrossing!

On a side note, I just finished Shirobako and Mawaru Penguidrum and they are awesome. Have you watched them?

Fulmine | Aug 7, 2016 11:33 PM
You give Steins;Gate a 10? That's surprising! I like it a lot and it's very good but I don't think it's DAT good and you're generally not as easy to entertain as I am given your overlist of both manga and anime.

May he be resurrected when winter has ended....

Yeah but I don't sympathize with crazy people just because they are crazy. I need an actual reason to sympathize with them ^^

Fair point but sometimes I feel characters with immutable personality traits seem gimmicky at times. Stories usually focus on characters that are on journeys and watching a character who doesn't the environment or any events affect their character make them look poor at adapting. Watching a character grow and learn is one of the primary reasons why I love a good coming-of-age stories. And that is probably why I usually like characters from series I already enjoy cause I love the series they are in.

Drugzy | Jun 30, 2016 2:21 PM
Too late. Togashi went back into hibernation >_<

Being confident and entertaining is a sure way to get be well-liked by many. I think my favorite characters also need to show some growth as a character as well as being someone you can sympathize with and it be hard sometimes to be sympathizing when you are a suave killer.

Hope you find something worth your time ^_^

Even if it is explainable. If Genei Ryodan actually lose any more members because Hisoka they'll just start looking like idiots cause now they should know of him and be prepared for whatever tricks he has up his sleeves. What happened before was really just them taken by complete surprise so it shouldn't work again. But Hisoka having that thick plot-armor is really frustrating so I can't help but feel the Genei Ryodan will lose more members. But it does seems like the Genei Ryodan has already started their heist so things are about to get fun really soon. It should also be interesting to follow Kurapika and see what he will prioritize in this trip. The lives he swore to protect or the eyes he has promised to retrieve... or just go after the Genei Ryodan like a crazy yandere xD

Aye, I am much worse making lists, it almost just depends on my mood sometimes. And it is easy to see what kind of taste in characters you have looking at them lol Suave killers are appealing but I feel like I am seeing it everywhere these days. Gotta be at least one in every manga series that has any action in them. I am fond of Anotsu and Askeladd though. Probably because I like the series they are in, but they are also just so gosh-darn charismatic <3

Aku no Hana - If you want to read something uncomfortable.
Innocent - Probably the most impressive visuals in modern manga.
Marie no Kanaderu Ongaku - Short and I remember being very impressed by it when I read years ago.
Shigurui - Heavy on exposition, gory and downright disgusting at times and just the way I like 'em ^_^
The Ravages of Time - Long as fuck, nowhere near the end, follows the 3 kingdoms script, near omniscient characters, and never-ending wars <3

I also liked Adolf ni Tsugu and Buddha, pretty old but the former could get pretty dark at times while the latter showed a journey of self-discovery and enlightenment. Both kinda heavy on morals. The rest I don't care much about/haven't read though Haruka na Machi e is only two volumes so you could read it in an hour.

Drugzy | Jun 26, 2016 6:36 PM
Yeah, I've tried to stick to the "one character per series" rule but couldn't really think of characters that stood that out to me and then I remembered how much I liked these character in VS so I just put them there ^_^ not that my list is any good, I'll probably change my mind before long but I am usually just to lazy to change it xD

Machi being subdued that easily was really infuriating to watch. Kortopi's and Shalnark's death coming out of nowhere and getting offed like fodders was also infuriating because it only served to set the stage for Hisoka vs Genei Ryodan. Which is already a pretty dumb match because Hisoka shouldn't stand a chance. He is fighting against 10 guys and while not all of them are top fighters like Hisoka, most of them still are and Chrollo is definitely a step above Hisoka. But ya know, Hisoka is a main, gotta let him pwn errybody! Herp! Derp! >_<

Also, Gon has temporarily retired as the protagonist and it seems Kurapika is gonna be the new central protagonist for this story arc. Bad omens for Genei Ryodan everywhere T_T

Fulmine | Jun 16, 2016 1:03 PM
Invincible? What do you mean? He just lost to Chrollo big time. Clearly his Nen can only do so much...

Shalnark and Kurotopi are among the ''less fighter, more info and special task members'' anw and they even gave Chrollo's their abilities so it's not much of a fight. I doubt Togashi would off-screen Hisoka vs Feitan for example.

Actually he didn't say that...I read both Viz and MS versions. All he said is now he would be the one to actively pick fight (set the flow, so to speak). I'm sure there's no ''stealth'' or ''one by one'' mentioned anywhere. Of course, it would be a good tactic if he does so but even if he kills them openly then it's also nothing weird, too. It's Hisoka after all. Back then he was ready to fight the whole group (whether he could win is besides the point) just to make Chrollo stayed in Yorknew. Hell, we don't know if he attacked Kurotopi stealthily. For all we know Kurotopi may have already finished his business (whether it's no.1 or no.2) and Hisoka stood in front of him. Shalnark straight up lost in a fair fight though. He was the one who came from behind Hisoka and it's his fault for focusing on Kurotopi's head instead of being aware of where Hisoka moved to.

Honestly it's one of the most HxH-ish chapter ever. Shit happens and characters can die suddenly. Like a seinen, haha. I love it.

Fulmine | Jun 16, 2016 8:30 AM
Conflicted? Oh, you don't know whether you should support him taking out the Spiders who are the best group in this manga?

Drugzy | Jun 15, 2016 8:38 AM
Welp, sorry Hisoka. Now I have to hate you >_<

I'm gonna be pissed if Togashi decides to kill of all the spiders in this arc T_T

Fulmine | Jun 11, 2016 4:17 AM
Do you love Chrollo and Hisdoka even more now? I soooooooo doooo.

Last chapter is awesome!

Fulmine | Apr 21, 2016 9:03 PM
So did you die a little due to orgasm? I asked azer who nosebled first, haha.
I personally dislike the fact that Hisoka has no boner this chapter. So out of character xD
And Chrollo explained his abilities like a Bleach character but I guess it may be his Hatsu's new condition. Such a set back makes sense given how crazy his Nen is.
Also the art is a bit weird...that Chrollo's nose and all those lines on the face

Other than that, I can't be more exciting! Not even Yonkou arc in One Piece makes me feel the same (though to be fair it just started)

Fulmine | Apr 20, 2016 11:28 PM
How's HxH? This week's chapter is basically what you and all of us want to see <3

Fulmine | Apr 13, 2016 3:04 AM
Yours is also not bad. And based on them, am I wrong in thinking we share same liking for plant stuffs (flowers, trees, forests etc.)? Mine has purple shade because I was thinking about sex when I picked it LOL Normally I would for something more realistic.

Also HxH is back this week. Prepare yourself!
