The characters also looks similar to Haru and Daisuke by look, and the whole vibe is like that, but with a child. I am not complaining though. |

I am not complaining though. Yes! It has some heavy inspiration especially in appearance, but also regarding the criminal scene and secret missions. I'm also okay with this. FK is one of my fav releases of the last 3 years, so may they take all the inspiration they want and need xD I think most people would notice the resemblances if Fugou wasn't so underrated. |

| I haven't done so, and have no clue why people are. They're nothing alike. Two odd people raising a kid. 'ooo that's so Spy x Family!' Nah, not really. Might as well compare both to Tokyo Godfathers or worse yet, Spy Kids. People really need to get over themselves. |

| The fact this thread even needed to be created is such a ridiculous reflection of how Spy x Family co-opted this genre of "young girl with found family of dubious profession." Hinamatsuri and Kumichou Musume no Sewagakari are both better comparisons to Buddy Daddies in terms of their plot, and are also both better at this genre than Spy x Family, yet now any show that introduces this plot point has to be immediately be compared to Spy x Family, which failed to succeed in being proficient in any of the seven genres it tried to dabble in. Please. If you like this genre - compare it to Kakushigoto. Compare it to Barakamon. Compare it to Usagi Drop. Compare it to Deaimon. Compare it to Yotsubato. Compare it to Beelzebub for God's sake. But don't compare it to a show that tried to mix Kaguya-sama slapstick with Princess Principal action scenes with all the tonal whiplash of Full Metal Panic. That is an insult to this genre. |

For me, the whole aesthetic of the show (visuals + sound + character design) reminds me a LOT of Great Pretender hahaha I'm glad more people noticed this. And I'm happy it has resemblances, since FK is one my fav anime of 2020 ^__^ I didn't watch Great Pretender (yet), but if it has this same idea as you stated, I'll like it a lot. |
