The question is: despite being completely different stories, both will arrive in 2025 (SP in April and 9 Nine with no forecast yet), both are from visual novel origins, both have some visually similar characters like Ao (SP) and Sora (Nine) and both have the potential to be successful, but for you, which of the two will become more popular and revive the visual novel adaptations for anime that were forgotten for years.

Jun Maeda has to grace is with his work once per five years and we expect a lot of him, so a lot of people will check it out just because of that.
Overall, I will check out both because for some reason I love VN adaptations. I enjoyed Atri very much last year.

summer pockets will probably be more popular. im pretty sure the visual novel is more popular than 9, at least in the west. also the studio for summer pockets is feel and the visuals look really nice. while on the other hand the studio for 9 is PRA which doesn't have many works let alone any highly rated ones. when it comes to reviving the genre though then im not too sure. it depends how good they are as i havent actually played either of them. to be honest, most visual novel adaptations aren't that great. they're entertaining enough and sometimes pretty looking but they are never really anything amazing other than like clannad and steins gate. so i personally doubt that genre will be 'revived'.

I don't know the other one but I imagine people like me will check out Summer Pockets simply because it's Jun Maeda.

soundtrack wise, SP hands down because of June Maeda. 9 has a good story and great characters but SP still has the most enjoyable and memorable one, maybe because it's KEY. Marketing of SP is also better, with more well known studio and artists

Guys, while it is still 10/10 and has the same atmosphere this IS NOT written by Jun Maeda, he came up with the concept and does some OSTs, the only thing he wrote was lyrics for the true end ED, the main writers are Nijima Yuu (popular in VN community for Hatsuyuki Sakura) and Kai (who has written routes in key games since AIR like Tohno there and Kyou in Clannad).

Also 9 (which I haven't read but want to soon enough) based on the slowly increasing scores of the 4 VNs appears to be a slow burn while Summer Pockets has one of the shortest prologue+common routes I've read. And I'll want to read 9 instead cause VNs are almost always better, actually having read Summer Pockets makes me want to see the differences and relieve some of those scenes

Seriously, it's getting annoying that people always think Key = Jun Maeda. But to be fair, most of the popular Key shows were mainly written by Jun Maeda. Other than that though, it's still completely disrespectful to the main writers of SP. Sure, Jun Maeda's works are fantastic but so are the other writers. Nijima Yuu's Hatsuyuki Sakura and Natsuyume Nagisa are really great and I highly recommend reading them both.

For 9:Nine, it'll be hard for them to adapt it as it only really worked because it was a VN. Or they'll just do a completely new "route" like what Rewrite's S1 did. Hopefully not (I still wish for a readaptation for my favorite Key work). If you don't want to be dissapointed then just read the VN.
