Only a 1 week delay so not that bad I can't imagine it's that big of a problem.

What is this "Aww... take your time!" crap?!? They better not leave the office until it's done! Failures and mandatory point deduction now!

I always thought that all episodes are done before airing. Its not that they are making every episode every week...

@Tekakurika Only a small amount of anime can achieve that, specially today...

@Oongbuh Well... I remember how Dandadan 6 episdes were leaked before airing date, means they make all episodes before the airing day and just broadcasting one episode every week

I think it depends on circumstances but most if not all record and produce within a week. Like long airing animes are done each week. I remember in Gintama they said they were recording 3 hours before the episode was airing and mostly on the same day.

And with Dandadan wasn't it because it was heavily promoted and they broadcasted these episodes as a sneak peak before it officially started streaming on Netflix?

Well at least they're actually finishing the episodes before releasing them, I've seen soo many unfinished slideshows get released recently. I get that sometimes the schedule makes it hard to finish on time but we've been seeing stuff release as if it was thrown together within minutes before the air date. The fact that I'd rather watch Pokemon (the OG 1995 one) for it's animation compared to what we've been getting recently is insane, there's absolutely no way they could do it better back then on paper with a machine compared to digitally now. We'll let's hope they can get the delay figured out soon.

"Funny" for years, in short Animes, i always thought when a short Anime aired, everything was ready. So many news lately of the staff of Animes, getting overboard or sick. The industry grew, but not the payment and working conditions.

Good to know, thanks for the info. I hope those "production reasons" are nothing serious. Either way, it's good that they take their time, instead of rushing the production and delivering half-baked product while stressing out the artists who worked on it.

@MewsicMagic Digital animation isn't a magic trick, it doesn't speed up the process as much as you think. At the end of the day animation is still a massively time consuming group effort, the actual problem is how much the industry at large has worsened.

Too many series being greenlit at once, not nearly enough staff in the industry to realistically handle them, producers giving unreasonable deadlines, etc.

@Oongbuh I'm well aware of that fact, it is still A LOT faster animating digitally than the old "traditional" way, digital animation 10 years ago vs now isn't much of a difference, but traditional animation was a LOT of extra work and required a lot of extra things we don't even need to think about now. which is why we can see a lot more shows getting animated than we could before. The issue isn't necessarily the amount of shows being done at once so much as the projects getting mismanaged, and released far too soon etc.

@Tekakurika If they're lucky, the team will have enough lead time to produce some substantial portion of the show prior to airing, and will use the weeks that those pre-produced episodes buy them to finish the last of the show...but that's what you'd call the "happy path". Any number of issues can crop up that force crunch time or episode delays. If you're interested and haven't seen it yet, I'd highly recommend watching Shirobako for a rough sketch of what production is like.
