According to Mainichi news, Saibara Rieko's manga "Mainichi Kasan" will be a TV anime. It will be aired from the spring 2009.

"Mainichi Kasan" is a comedy manga based on Saibara's own experience with her two children and has been published in Mainichi newspaper since 2002. The manga won Japan Media Arts Award in 2004 and Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2005.

Isn't that the manga where the artist's kid's school told them to stop writing about school life because it makes them look bad or something?

Haha, now it has an anime.

Yes, Saibara's manga is based on her real experience, so it caused a dispute against the elementary school in 2005. In the episode in question, Saibara described five children including her son as "Top 5 idiots in the class (Kurasu no 5 Dai Baka)".

Might make an interesting change. I will probably try it out. It'll be interesting to see who precisely they aim this at and what format it uses and the time slot it gets put in - whether it ends up in another late night timeslot like most anime or is timed to compete with the likes of Sazae-san (given the subject matter, this is possible).
