Anyone who stumbled upon Citrus and is hoping for it to be a sweet and realistic girl x girl romance -- run while you still can.
This anime was overhyped as the new forefront for shoujo ai anime, something to represent the minority of us who actually want to see a realistic romance between two girls falling in love but instead, what does it turn out to be?
Complete utter garbage, and anyone who is willing to give this anything above 3/10 is simply a prepubescent hormonal boy who gets off to typical ecchi shit.
Let me elaborate:
Story:
what story? girl transfers into all girls school, secondary MC
...
comes in and molests MC under the guise of "inspection", and for some reason this sparks her sexual and romantic interest in her. Realistic and romantic right?
Character:
The MC and 2nd MC are just horny individuals who due to an even hornier author, believes themselves to be in love. every other character in the anime is a plot device and the author isn't afraid to violate them in any matter to compensate for how severely lacking this is. I mean, the "rival" is a middle school girl who engages in sexual behavior and gets money from old men.
** oh and said girl, was made into a straw villain (look into straw characters online) and the author pushed it so far that THOSE OF US WHO WERE DESPERATELY CLINGING TO THIS HOPING FOR A SWEET ROMANCE were traumatized.
How? for half an episode we were forced to into a suspense of whether the 2nd MC was going to turned into a prostitute for old men or not.
seriously? wtf...
It's bad enough that the characters in this anime run around forcefully kissing and molesting people like as if it was the norm. It was difficult enough tolerating a character set whose morals seem to be as if they were raised at a brothel.
Art:
This was horrible too, proportions would be what you would assume to be if someone was drunk while animating this. There were multiple moments where we were given an overhead view yet the characters were standing sideways, so if flipped to real perspective, they were walking tilted downwards by roughly 45 degrees.
Lest we forget how in ep 1 MC wanted to put her phone in her cleavage but realized she was flat, then in her shower scene she suddenly has at least
C cups. LOGIC :D
she appears to be average in terms of her butt too, but on certain occasions she could compete against Kim Kardashian. once again, LOGIC.
Sound:
Either they purposely made the VAs squeal out the most annoying sounds they could or the VAs were just as disgusted as I am about this anime and couldn't be bothered to try.
The OP and ED aren't bad though, I'll give it that.
Enjoyment:
Want to get shock therapy to try and forget this shit / 10
Overall:
Preteen boys would be so turned on by this / 10

Unlike the anime, "I can't understand what my husband is saying" -- this anime despite the quality animation, seems to be made by someone with an overly idealistic outlook on married life.. with absolutely no clue how long term couples behave.
I was honestly expecting more out of this. Only enjoyed how voluptuous she was, everything else was extremely unrealistic and disappointing.
They're essentially middle school couples that get embarrassed over just being hugged... and made to look like grown ups...
i swear even my first relationship ever at the age of 14 was ten times more mature than these "married couples"
Story: 3
Nonexistent. everything is a plot device
...
so that chi chan can come home and have beta-kun serve her alcohol and rewards him the same way a middle school girl would their boyfriend after a week of dating.
Art: 9
It's only saving grace, without the decent animation, the most I could give this would be a 2/10. If they wrote this off as purely ecchi, then this section alone could warrant for the majority of it's rating, because chi chan is very well endowed. -- alas I was expecting a heartwarming anime about cute married couples.
Sound: 8
The voice actors did their job properly, the sound effects team as well. such wasted potential.
Characters: 2
Zero actual depth for characters, the beta husband-kun exists to do two things;
1- Worship his goddess and make offerings of alcohol and food, always and ALWAYS after saying, "meshi agare" this is an absolute must.
2- Be the human equivalent of a scratching pole for a cat. i.e. a human shaped object with no emotions of its own, whose existence is solely for the purpose of being an object for the MC to cling to once she's drunk.
the husband is essentially what you'd expect of a preteen boyfriend simulator robot with no emotions.
Chi chan;
Only saving grace is her well developed body and cute face, aside from that... she has no personality, she goes to work, come back, gets drunk, acts cutesy and stuff, never gets laid with her husband, at most gets a little kiss on the forehead or something --- despite the fact that these are MARRIED PEOPLE.
Enjoyment and overall: 3
didnt really enjoy this at all really, but seeing the fact that this was animated pretty well and the voice actors did a decent job, I couldnt bring myself to rate this any lower.
but in all honesty, this anime was horrible. these are SUPPOSED TO BE MARRIED PEOPLE with actual jobs and crap, and yet they act like middle school kids on their first relationship.
apparently they're old enough to drink, but never do they ever actually do things mature, married people do.
whoever wrote the source material, is probably a virgin and has never once had a relationship longer than 2 weeks.
like seriously... so much wasted potential.
tl;dr: crap imitation of "I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying" with good animation and innocent ecchi.

This is literally the only anime I'm actually going out of my way to leave a negative review on. But, after forcing myself to finish the series due to completionism, it would haunt me if i didn't.
The anime started off as a slightly meta-breaker of an anime, with some One Punch Man tones despite the MC being weak as heck. Essentially what caught my interest was that it was parodying popular shounen genres and I enjoy those.
I enjoyed the anime up until around the 7th or so episode, and then from that point on the anime pretty much did a backflip and dove head-straight into
...
a pile of crap, and turning into one of my greatest regrets in my lifetime of viewing anime.
The anime suddenly goes from parodying the cliches, to actually adopting them, becoming absolutely horrible cheap knock-offs and NOT with the intention to be humorous but instead assuming it's doing a good job.
character development went to absolute crap, the story development turned into something along the lines of, "hey, remember that old anime that everyone loved? let's copy it's plot and major plot twists, and add in bits and pieces and pretend we're doing it better!!!"
absolutely horrible, at the end of it you sit there in your chair or whatever wondering, "why..?"
"why did I even watch this...?"
in summary: Crap.
story: Pathetic.
character: Disgrace to shounen genre.
Enjoyment & overall: I'm surprised I didn't jump off a building / 10
the art and sound was decent I guess, in other words...a decent budget flushed down the toilet.

Just like in Toaru Majutsu no Index, yet again the specials are far more enjoyable than the original series xD
These specials have a crap ton of references to not only the special portions of the series and parodies them but also drags other anime into the mix as well.
And it doesn't stop there, they even drag the voice actors into it.
In terms of comedy and a job well done, these specials are far superior than the original. Kuroneko yet again remains my favorite character in this, and at this point, as a serious character, Accelerator is by far my favorite and I can't wait to
...
see if they release a Toaru Kagaku no Accelerator.
rated the original series 7/10, but the specials are a 9/10.

That moment when the specials are far more enjoyable than the original series, lol.

In terms of comedy and a job well done, these specials are far superior than the originals and I think I enjoyed the MC in this rather than the Holier-than-thou face-puncher-kun in the original series.
rated the original series 6/10 I think, but the specials are a 9/10.
