This show becomes 10 times funnier if you imagine Senshi is literally just SungWon and pretend that all the food he makes throughout the series is just a continuation of his food review videos.
I've seen a lot of love for this one recently, and I can definitely see why. I was sorta iffy about whether or not it was entirely necessary to have such complex cooking tutorials for a bunch of food that you can never properly recreate. But then I realized that it's literally just Louie's enemy notes from Pikmin 2, so now I'm totally fine with it. The show has a good balance
...
of comedy and drama, on top of all the incredible food pics.
Got a really great art style with extra animation flexing saved for the really pinnacle moments. Cast is hilarious, with Marcille and Senshi being the highlights. The stakes during battles aren't super high, since everyone can just be healed and resurrected with magic. But the characters themselves aren't crazy powerful fighters, so it makes each enemy encounter interesting, even if the outcome is fairly obvious. Regardless, it's still an incredibly enjoyable series and I'm very much looking forward to Season 2.
With all that said, I gotta say. As a vegetarian, I wouldn't last one day in this world. Despite how likable the cast is and how chill and wholesome the cooking segments are, this is probably the last anime world I would ever wanna exist in.

Wow... I am stunned... With a title like that, I had every reason to believe that this would be some more HOT trash to add to the bad anime romance pile! But listen. Whatever you think is gonna take place in this series, I assure you that it's NOTHING like you think its gonna be! Something like this should've been destined to be terrible. But I cannot stress enough just how unbelievably pleasant and and beautiful the entire experience was. The two leads are almost TOO perfect. They treat one another with so much respect and understanding throughout each and every point of their relationship,
...
its almost hard to believe.
And ya, it's a weird situation! They're high school classmates who suddenly get their lives uprooted and become step-siblings, having no prior knowledge of one another's existence. And after having lived most of their lives in solitude without anyone in and out of their family to rely on, they find a sense of calm and gentleness that they've never had before. So now they're faced with navigating these feelings while trying to do whats best for their new relationship, as well as their parents' relationship. There's NO miscommunication. NO fighting. NO fan service. NO insults. And I kid you not, the words "baka" and "hentai" do not get said ONCE by a SINGLE character in this ENTIRE series! A literal miracle!
Story aside, this is such a peaceful series. I can see some being bored by it, but I absolutely loved it. The music is consistently quiet and serene to match the quiet nature of the two leads. The animation is, to put it bluntly, some of the most stunning works of art I've ever seen. There are SO many gorgeous shots, especially during some of the inner monologue moments. The lighting, the shadows, the water, the clouds, its ALL. SO. BEAUTIFUL. I honestly have nothing bad to say about this series. It shocked me in every single solitary way and told a very uniquely difficult love story with as much maturity and dignity as humanly possible. Seriously. If you were worried about this series in any way whatsoever, I highly encourage you to take a risk. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Full disclosure, this was my introduction to Slam Dunk. And as someone who had absolutely zero knowledge of this series before this movie came out, I am now 1000% more interested in watching the entire original series, now! This movie was just nonstop brillinace! I loved every second of it! And this is your resident "Not A Sports Ball Person" talking, here! I think basketball is a perfect fit for a shonen anime. The drama between all the characters and their various backstories all felt so real and left me frothing at the mouth to learn more about them! The up close action makes this
...
a million times more entertaining than any real life sports ball game could ever hope to be. The visuals are absolutely NUTS! Like, 99% of this film's budget went into creating the most realistic fabric animation of all time on the sports jerseys, alone! And everything else looks phenomenal, too! Also OH MY GOD, THE MUSIC! THE MUSIC GOES SO STINKIN HARD, ESPECIALLY NEAR THE END! I KNOW WHAT I'LL BE LISTENING TO ON REPEAT, ALL THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR! I am a little worried that I'll find myself in a similar situation to playing Persona 5 before Persona 4, in which the downgrade in visuals and audio will make it more difficult to enjoy the show in the same way that the original fans were able to, back when it was new. But I'd LOVE to be wrong and I honestly don't think I'll be able to stop thinking about this movie until I finally go and watch the entire show. So stay tuned for that review, I guess! Others may say differently, but I think having this as your introduction to Slam Dunk is totally fine. I had no problem following along, but I definitely can see how this would've been a completely different experience for people who grew up with these characters. Regardless, this film must ABSOLUTELY be watched and can EASILY be enjoyed by anyone, regardless of whether or not you're an anime fan, sports ball fan, or none of the above!

I could see this emotionally destroying me if I had watched it 20 years ago. (I was gonna type 10 years ago, but then I remembered how old I was, oh noooo...) Uh, anyway! I'm very surprised I wound up liking it as much as I did. For the first half or so, I was fairly confident it was gonna be just ok from beginning to end, but it just kept getting more deep and emotional as time went on. Probably my biggest complaint would be that I kinda wonder what the show would've been like if it entirely took place during the flashback segments
...
that got revealed near the end. I found myself getting more and more invested in the big reveals of Atri's past and the past events of the world the story takes place in, but by the time we learn about them, we're thrown right back to present day. I feel like a prequel series would work really well! The chemistry between all the characters was nice. No annoying overdone tropes or love triangles, which was much appreciated. Also HOLY COW, A BEST FRIEND OF THE MAIN CHARACTER WHO DOESN'T BECOME AGGRESSIVELY JEALOUS OF THE LOVE INTEREST AND IS JUST HAPPY FOR THEIR FRIEND'S NEWFOUND HAPPINESS! This show deserves a 10/10 for that, alone! Overall, I really like a lot of the topics and themes explored in this series, but I've also seen other shows with similar premises that did a better job with it, in my opinion. I liked the characters and story, but none of it tugged at my heartstrings as much as I would've liked it to. Like I said, I feel like if I had seen this earlier on in life, it would've had a much bigger impact on me. But I'm still very happy to have watched it and would very much enjoy getting to see another story in this world, later down the line.

I didn't know how badly I needed "Dribble and Spitz" the anime, but I am SO happy that we have it and that I finally watched it! I really had no idea what to expect with this one. First off, the animation and character designs are all fantastic. Opening is really unique and artsy, too. As far as story goes, I can't say much without giving away too much of the mystery. Because, surprise surprise, it's a mystery show! There are a lot of moving pieces throughout this show and they do a really good job at having them all connected and tying it all
...
together in the end, which I very much appreciate. With that said though, I'm not... entirely sure how I feel about how it all ended. Again, I can't specify. But there are parts of the ending that I REALLY REALLY like, and other parts, specifically near the last few seconds that just made me go "....huh!?" The movie "Odd Taxi: Into The Woods" is not a broadway musical, but rather a recap film that gives us a liiiiiiiittle bit more additional info. Like, literally an extra 5 minutes at the end and some still images in the credits that show us the aftermath without really showing us HOW it ended the way that it did. I honestly kinda wish they just didn't make that film at all and kept the bizarre, ambiguous ending that the series initially had. I definitely think the show as a whole is still worth watching and has so many unique qualities that make the journey as enjoyable as it was. Just... brace yourself for the destination not feeling as rewarding as the journey itself was. But maybe that's just me.

Welp, I definitely went ahead and ruined every single other romance I'm gonna watch this year, that's for sure! Cuz there ain't NO WAY this one is getting topped! I am actually deceased! This was an absolutely perfect series! So I've known about this show and its premise for years and I always had a nagging feeling in the back of my mind that I was going to hate it. I just had a fear that it was just gonna be filled with a bunch of jokes revolving around the size of the main character and how everyone around him is either afraid of him
...
or repulsed by him. And look, I've lived my whole life being the tallest person in every room. I didn't really wanna watch a whole show about it if the main character was only gonna get used for comedic shock value, even if there was a potential for a happy ending. But no. I was DEAD WRONG.
You don't have to wait for a happy ending. The love story starts RIGHT away with this one! For that alone, this show is LEAGUES above any other romance that spends the whole series playing the "will they or won't they" game. The two leads are together right from the get-go and watching their relationship unfold is the cutest, most wholesome thing I've ever seen in my entire stinkin life. And ya, there's plenty of characters throughout who are afraid of Takego or judge him for the "normal looking" girl that he's with. But they get shut down RIGHT AWAY, either by his friends who love and support him through thick and thin, or by Takego's actions that show people who he is on the inside. Everyone who KNOWS Takego LOVES Takego. And it's SO uplifting to see that. This show has such a strong emphasis on loving people for WHO they are, rather than WHAT they are.
And it's not just with the main two, either! The supporting cast has tons of time in the spotlight and lots of great development for themselves, as well as further developing Takego's journey. I was smiling and sobbing from beginning to end. Romance is such a hit and miss genre for me. I WANT it to be my favorite, but there are just SOOOOO many bad ones out there, because there's such a big audience for romances that just hinge on nonstop drama and love triangles or characters who have ZERO chemistry for one another but get the Hollywood kiss scene at the end and that's enough to satisfy people. But not me. I want characters who complete one another and who show actual compatibility and love and trust and devotion for each other all throughout. You can still have drama and hurdles in the relationship that don't involve them fighting with one another or wild miscommunications that lead to temporary breakups or fighting over them with another person like they're a trophy to be won. This show should be the box standard for how any and all romance story should be made in the future. It's truly perfect in every single way.
I can see people not liking this series due to Takego's design, and I was admittedly one of those people for a long time. But honestly, after going through the film industry and really taking the time to grasp that the various depictions of the world we live in that we see on television are specifically devised by people who are either trying to sell us a product of what society has deemed to be attractive or desirable, or are created by people who are too shallow-minded to have anyone unattractive in their perfect little world due to them thinking that they're "not believable enough" to be in these sorts of roles unless they're meant to be someone mocked or feared. It was just... really nice to see a character so young who looked like that and was treated so kindly, while also addressing the harsh effects of those who judged him only at face value.
Like I've said. I've lived these things. Far too many times to count. Whether it's being told I look "too old" to play a fictional character whose the same age as me, or only ever seeing people my size on TV when they're meant to play the bully or the monster or the one and only fat character that gets mocked relentlessly and whose only scenes revolve around them liking food. It hurts. Its tiring. And it's often debilitating for someone like me whose dream it is to go to Japan one day and knowing full well I'll be the biggest person in the entire country if and when I finally go there. So to have this series come out of Japan and be all about love and acceptance for someone who looks like me... it meant so much. To see someone like me portrayed with such dignity and sincerity.
Yes, there'll still be people who fear me. But there's also people who don't find me scary or weird because they've accepted me as a part of their world. Those are the people whose feelings truly matter. I hope everyone has a show like this that speaks to them and that portrays them in such a positive light. And I hope everyone has people in their real lives that treat them with the love and kindness and acceptance that they deserve. Stories and characters like these don't exist solely within fiction. So long as you're willing to let them be seen, you'll find them.

YOU get voiced by Chris Sabat! YOU get voiced by Chris Sabat! You ALL get voiced by Chris Sabat!
This is a 25 minute adaptation of a story that Eiichiro Oda created before One Piece. And because Oda is Oda, this story and the story of One Piece actually exist within the same universe! But aside from the little tease at the end of the short, this is a completely standalone story that you can watch without having any prior knowledge or experience with One Piece. But of course, those last 30 seconds could be considered spoilery. So if you'd like to watch this alongside your
...
viewing of One Piece, you can watch this after you watch episode 362. This was just a really cool thing for them to do. I had NO clue it existed and saw NO advertisement for it, though! Kinda just stumbled upon it be accident. I've always wondered if I would be able to enjoy another Oda story if he decided to create something after One Piece. While I sincerely hope he just retires as soon as its finished and catches up on 30 years of sleep, this short definitely gave me some confidence that I can learn to love any story woven together by him.

A very long journey has come to an end. To those who aren't aware, Sound Euphonium was one of the shows that made me stop watching anime for a bunch of years. It was mainly due to just being watched during a very difficult time in my life, but I also found myself very shocked that I didn't end up absolutely falling in love with a Kyoto Ani series like I normally would. I finally watched Liz and the Blue Bird last year and it changed my stinkin life. So I was a lot more optimistic going into Season 3. Overall, I think I need
...
to rewatch this entire series someday under a fresh perspective. It's been so long since I saw the first two seasons, but I could still feel that sense of accomplishment for reaching the end of the journey. Both within myself as a viewer and within the characters for how much they had changed and all that they had gone through. I remember a criticism I previously had about this series was that the main cast all felt like background characters to another show. But I feel like that's sort of the point. There's a wide array of personalities with different goals and backgrounds, but it's first and foremost the club as a whole that serves as the main character. Everyone's positions in the club change every year. New people get added, old people graduate. And everyone changes throughout every step of that journey. They might not feel like main characters in the beginning, because they're coming in as the newbies in season 1. But even as time goes on and they take on more prominent leadership positions, they still have to deal with being new to the people coming in. When looking at it like that and taking in the reason as to WHY these interactions and dynamics are the way that they are at the specific points in time in which they happen, it all becomes so much more brilliant. It becomes... real. Oh, ya. And the music and visuals are still beyond legendary, from beginning to end. It's Kyoto Ani's magnum opus. Nuff said. I definitely need to watch this series again someday. I'm sure my score will go up once I do. But for right now, I'll just say I'm incredibly grateful to have finally "got it".

This is a review of the first 3 seasons, first movie, and the spinoff show "Slime Diaries"
I think I can finally definitively say that I just don't like isekai/"RPG-like" anime. So the main character is basically invincible from episode 1 and can win every battle and bring everyone back to life at any time, so there's absolutely zero consequence or tension in any of the battle sequences. And the scenes in-between battles range from boring as heck medieval politics talk to "i want to touch the booby" nonsense. A lot of the development of the world and its characters just sorta happens off screen while
...
Rimuru just narrates what happened in a rapid-fire montage. I feel like there was little to no reason for him to be reincarnated from another world, other than for him to say "my dude" over and over. The third season was... ridiculously boring. I swear that half the season just took place in the meeting room while everyone just sat completely still and talked about what they were GOING to do, rather than actually DOING anything. The spinoff show, Slime Diaries, is entirely sketch comedy/slice of life, which was more entertaining. But there's just SO many characters and no actual development for them during the main show that its hard to get attached. I feel like this was solely made to be eye candy for people who are just REALLY into phantasy creatures and RPG monsters... and boobies... lots of boobies... I honestly can't fathom why this show has been going on for so long. I also can't fathom why there have been a seemingly endless number of isekai anime in the past decade. They all look and sound more or less exactly the same. I chose this one to watch simply because it looked slightly more visually interesting than the dozens of other medieval phantasy RPG isekai shows with an overpowered protagonist and an obnoxiously long show title out there. Perhaps I chose poorly. Or perhaps there was never a good option in the first place.
Season 1: 4/10
Slime Diaries: 6/10
Season 2: 3.5/10

This is a review of seasons 1, 2, and 3.
One of the most visually striking series I've ever had the pleasure of watching. It's like they took everything that made One Punch Man so great and cranked it up to 11! Or, I guess in this case, 100. It's worth watching just for the visuals, alone. But there's also a lot to love in the story and character department, as well. It has very similar beats and story structure to One Punch Man, as you'd expect. The main protagonist is literally invincible, so there's no question on what the outcome of every fight is gonna
...
be. So it's the lead up to each fight and the in-between interactions with the characters that are the real heart and soul of the show. One of my biggest criticisms with One Punch Man was that there were a LOT of characters that had their own plots happening separate from the main cast that I would often gloss over, thinking that these characters must not be that important if they aren't directly interacting with Saitama. I had a similar issue with Mob Psycho, but it's a little different. They did a much better job of having the minor characters be more involved in Mob and Reigen's lives, so it felt more natural for all these moving pieces to be connected with one another. However, there's a new issue I had in which Mob and Reigen are SOOOOO good, that I was just BEGGING for more scenes with just the two of them. I loved their dynamic so much and I loved seeing every intricate part of their personalities come to light as the show progressed. I don't think anything was left unresolved, but I just selfishly wish I had even more of just the two of them because they worked so well to the point where I don't think we really needed much else. I do still love Mob's interactions with the Body Improvement Club and seeing the one-off mystery episodes. Like Mob's power level or whatever you wanna call it, my enjoyment of the show just increased more and more as time went on. Definitely keep watching all the way to the end. Even if it doesn't grab you at first, I promise you it will when all is said and done.
