Yo, somehow you stumbled here and you are looking at my stuff. Welcome!
I love hearing people's different opinions and I love giving things second chances. So if you feel I unfairly dropped a show, honestly I would love to give it another chance. Usually I drop anime because of not having time to watch them, basically feeling that it's not worth my time.

I decided to send you a message again, since just recently, my friend and I finally got around to watching Kakushigoto and we have finished it last week!
The show was pretty good overall! The show provided a nice story of cherishing the things that are precious to you! There were also a lot of funny scenes, especially in the second half of the show! The ending was also quite sweet!
If I were to complain about anything, it'd be that the first couple of episodes of the series was a bit dull/not too funny. Also, although I liked a lot of things that the ending did, there were a couple things I wasn't as fond of!
"Balls of Fury" seems quite entertaining though!
I hope that the year has been treating you well! Until next time!
Honestly, I know I'm difficult, but that's why I signed up for the gift exchange. I really appreciate the effort you put into your choices.
I at least managed to watch Millenium Actress so far.
I am familiar with Nana and Grave of the Fireflies. I actually deleted GOTF from my list, because I couldn't find a good place to watch it, but I'll try again. That was a spot-on REC. I'll also finally give Nana a genuine shot. You're only the latest person to speak to me about its high praise.
Thanks, again, and I hope your holidays went great as well!
And, yesss! You should try Girls und Panzer! Even if you don't care too much about military history, tanks, tactics, it's more or less also a CGDCT kind of show. I feel it has a good number of things to appreciate.
Thanks a lot for the recommendations!
I thought I would first talk about the other 2 recommendations you gave me first, before I start talking about the one that I did start watching.
Funny thing about Kakushigoto is that I did almost watch it. I watch a lot of anime with friends (almost everything I currently watch that’s not currently airing), and one fun thing I decided to do for choosing our next anime was use the website anirec.net and filter by only stuff that aired at least 2 years ago and we picked something from the top 5. Kakushigoto wound up placing #2, but in the end wound up losing to Ascendance of a Bookworm. I sent her a message when I saw that you put it as one of your recommendations and she responded saying “Now we have to see it”, so hopefully we will get to that soon and I’ll send you another message letting you know what we thought when we do! She’s the same friend I also watched Usagi Drop, Aishiteruze Baby and Wolf Children with so I thought it was appropriate that I also check this out with her ^_^. When we were deciding what to watch, my first impression of Kakushigoto was that it looked like it could be cute and have some funny moments, but also seemed like it could get repetitive/stale later on. Guess I’ll find out soon enough!
Thank you for the movie recommendation as well! Usually when I hang out with friends, we watch an anime movie so it’s always good to get more things to add to the list! I’ve had my eye on Her Blue Sky for a while, I heard that it was done by the Anohana team, which interested me. Alas, it felt like there were more and better options for me and my friends to watch so this movie never made it on my list. I think since it’s so low down maybe I’ll just watch it now and then it’ll be so long when we finally get to it, it’ll be due for a rewatch. I also keep forgetting that it’s music-related so more enticing!
It seems you are quite the anime movie connoisseur, like myself, so I wanted to hear your thoughts on Pop in Q. The premise seems cute enough, though it also seems to get a bad rep…
Now onto the show I actually did start watching, Run with the Wind. Sorry, I wasn’t able to finish it in time, but I’m more than halfway at least! The show is pretty decent so far. It’s pretty much exactly what I expected and nothing too extraordinary here. There are some things that I do really like about this anime. First and most obvious is the animation is high-notch. It’s really impressive that during a lot of the running scenes where there’s so many characters on screen at a time that they keep up the animation and character facial features so well! Most anime would use excessive blur or just hide the characters’ faces that aren’t the mains so I’m really glad that the running scenes look so good. I also really like how sometimes when one of the characters start lacking motivation or have a struggle, different characters would get involved. Examples including Shindo relating his inspiration for running to King, Kakeru finally being able to get on the Prince’s level and help inspire him to improve his times and Nico-chan’s lifestyle changes rubbing off on Yuki. In a below average anime, the main character (Haiji) would inspire everyone, but I’m really glad they did it that way, since I love it when we get to see what motivates each character and their differing viewpoints on life. The running serving more as a lifestyle effect on the characters rather than just “we need to be #1” was also a welcome addition! I found the characters in this anime to be pretty “meh” (if I had to pick a favourite, it’d probably be Shindo. He’s pretty cute). I also feel the anime made a lot of weird decisions like not fixing Prince’s “running stance’ until episode 11 when it should have been fixed at episode 2 (I guess they didn’t want to pressure him too much to have him quit), also the weird inclusion of the usual “teamwork and comradery” theme, which makes sense for sports like volleyball, soccer and basketball since knowing your teammates help with advantages, but doesn’t really make too much sense for running since they basically just run by themselves and don’t see their teammates until they pass the baton. I get that it’s important since they all live together so having them get along as a huge perk there, but there seemed to be a lot of focus on it for success in the sport as well, which was weird. The anime (so far) kinda also just flows like a standard “underdog to competent” story. Of course, this is meant to be an inspiring anime, so I can’t give too much evaluation until the last couple episodes so we’ll see how those flow!
I am overall glad you recommended this to me though since if I didn’t watch it now, I likely would have never watched it!
Oh, if you like the kind of Sports anime that Run with the Wind is like and want to watch another Sports Anime, you should check out Cross Game. It also has a very inspiring story, emotional motivation and showcases the main characters working hard to achieve their goal! Unless you don’t like baseball anyways…
I hope that you enjoyed your recommendations that you got from your Santa (though looking at your post it looks like you did) and hope you have a great 2022!
Thanks a lot for the wonderful Secret Santa gift and some great recommendations :)
I hope you have a Superb 2021!
