Both of them are about a socially awkward guys crushing on girls that have no interest in them, and that's pretty much where the similarities stop. However they both are very engaging and cringy. I do personally prefer Nagatoro because there's at least SOME storyline and progression with the characters relationship, but I think if you've watched rent a girlfriend, and even sort of liked it you will enjoy Nagatoro.
