There is a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you don't know how long that tunnel is. Two of the most inspiring and realistic manga out there, both penned by Inio Asano.
Both deal with themes of moving on, unfulfilled dreams, and the dreariness of life.

+ Tell tragic yet realistic stories of people who want life to be a little better and easier
+ One of the earlier stories in Subarashii Sekai is about college-age students struggling between the decision of whether to be musicians or not which is very much like the story of Solanin

- Subarashii Sekai is many different stories with only a little connection between them while Solanin is just one story about a group of friends
