The first few chapters are ridiculous and really fun to read, after that the premise of the story starts to set in and after each additional chapter that initial shock is replaced with curiosity. I am left wondering what sea creature's story will be told next. I like the way that the minor characters are portrayed and even though we don't get to spend much time on them, it feels like it's enough. Another funny thing is that they include recipes for dishes in the story too.
The recurring jokes are good, and the level of seriousness is appropriate for the story. I'd recommend this series if you are looking for a story with a premise that you most likely haven't seen before.
edit: I've read some more chapters and I am amazed at how eating fish can turn into something so romantic.
