This is a spin-off story of the original "My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!", depicting a scenario of what if Katarina regained the memories of her previous life much later in life as opposed to getting them as a child. As the title "On the Verge of Doom" suggests, prior to regaining her memories, she has been diligently acting as the villainess of that story and magnificently souring relations with some of the characters we encounter. All of which will eventually lead to her "Doom" if nothing is done. Now that she has regained her memories and upon realising how precariously close she is to her destruction, this is a story on what she does to avert her destruction. But of course Katarina being the same Bakarina we know and love from the previous story, what she does to avert her destruction would be strangely familiar to us, albeit slightly different. We get to see her get up to her usual antics and also see how she forms her bonds with her friends in the original story all over again albeit slightly differently. New characters not seen in the original story are also introduced giving the story are more unique flavour. People who enjoyed the original story and haven't had enough of Bakarina and Co. and their antics would likely enjoy this spin-off too.
