Korean Manhwa with Japanese Anime Adaptations
Anime
Attempting to collate all adaptations of manwha (i.e. comics written by Korean authors and published in Korea) into anime (i.e. cartoons by in Japan).
I've noticed exisiting stacks tend to either be incomplete or include Chinese and/or Korean adaptations. The goal of this stack is to be a unique compilation.
Notable exclusions:
* Lookism (cartoon created in South Korea)
* True Beauty (cartoon created in South Korean)
* ReLife (comic written by Japanese author—despite being in webtoon format most often utilised by Korean authors)
There are lots of aeni being made from manwha, many, but not all, of which are listed on MAL. This would make for another interesting stack.
I am not including sequels or specials—only the first entry in a series.
If you think I've made any errors or that I am missing something, please feel free to DM.

Originally published as a web novel in 2016 by a Korean author and later adapted with the assistance of a Korean artist into a manwha in 2018.
Debatably the most popular and certainly the best received manwha adaptation at the time of writing, this anime may have catalysed the announcement of more manwha adaptations. The exact extent of its influence is difficult to ascertain as several other manwha adaptations were released in the same year and year prior.

One of the three manwha adaptations produced by Crunchyroll as Crunchyroll originals, alongside Tower of God and Noblesse. The first instances of Korean manwha making a splash in the anime scene.
This is where manwha adaptations started to be considered more seriously as contenders for anime adaptations. There was great optimism in the Western anime community for the prospect of future manwha adaptations, though this was quickly tempered by the mixed reception of all three of the Crunchyroll originals and lack of any further manwha adaptations in the following two years (excluding the minimally noted Survival movies by Toei and Gallop).

The comic was written by the same Korean authors as Black God and published in a different Japanese magazine.
Like Black Dog, I do not consider it to fit the criteria of manhwa as laid out in the description of the stack but include it for the sake of completion

Originally a manwha published from 1998 to 2001. The manwha was the basis for the MMORPG Ragnarok Online which was in turn the basis for the anime. Although, indirectly connected through the video game, this is the first anime adaptation of a manwha.
