Anime With Terrible Endings
AnimeSpoiler
These are a collection of anime with the absolute worst endings I have ever seen. Anime that leave you speechless, confused and questioning reality but not because of some insane psychological twist but the insanity that went through running a good show into a trash bin and straight into hell. I'm talking about the biggest disappointments and letdowns that will leave a terrible taste in your mouth. Anime that make the ending of Game of Thrones feel like it was Oscar worthy storytelling. Shows that completly self destruct (sometimes literally) into an abomination of regret. These are 10 shows with the worst ending that ruined my day and potentially my life.

Started off with a lot of great potential and was the most hype anime of the season. Everyone was talking about Akame ga Kill! and it was one of the most popular shows of the time. The characters and abilities were cool and it had a lot going for it until the show suddenly decided "Hey let's just stop everything we're doing and kill everyone off". It left me speechless and felt like the most rushed project I have ever seen. I don't understand what went through their minds here like they went out of their way to ruin a good show. Please don't even bother yourself with this trash.

Air Gear is an amazing show and probably my favourite sports anime of all time. Electric Boosted Roller Blading Parkour! It might have one of the worst endings I have ever seen but that's moreso because they just chose to abruptly end the series and never make a season 2. It didn't ruin the overall show but it did give me a lot of disappointment with finding out it was an incomplete story. Still, despite this I still wholeheartedly recommend this show. It was fun, exciting and the music is amazing. Certainly is a underrated hidden gem but just be warned on that disapointing end.

Another anime with good potential and laid the groundwork for a great series but with a combination of messy adaptions from the manga and an inaccurate order of events left this show with somewhat of a random ending that didn't really tie up any knots and also killed the potential of any season 2 being possible without a complete reboot

Beautiful animation and a very serious story that led absouletly nowhere. How do you build up an entire movie for a confession and don't confess? It boggles my mind when people enjoy this movie. It's just terribly told stories put together into absolutely stunning and beautiful animation which resulted in an almalgamation of what I can only call; Beautiful Trash.

Again we are back with more anime from Makoto Shinkai. Now not as pointless as Centimeter, Kotonoha no Niwa left me bored and questioning why so much effort was put into this story? It was the best looking anime I ever seen at the time and I didn't understand why the story was just so mundane. I'd choose any generic rom com over this.

Potential is something that is a recurring theme here. Here we have an anime that brings a fun murdery mystery game into the mix of the storytelling with the viewer wondering what the origins of this all are. When it came to the final reveal I thought of all the amazing twists they could do and we are left with the most stupidest answer I have ever seen in a story. Everything from then on was a complete flop.
