My personal favourites, includes most of the usual suspects. As a binge watcher, I have a preference for longer running series. This is my list of Isekai series that I have watched which lasted at least 2 cours.

I will only list the 1st season of the series but my comments are about the whole series.
Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken
TV, 2018, 24 eps Me:- Author:9
A light-hearted, feel-good isekai with an overpowered main character right from the start. It leans more into kingdom-building and diplomacy than non-stop action, but when the fights happen, they’re slick and satisfying.

Interesting world building in the 1st season.
Rimuru is easy to root for, and the supporting cast grows alongside him in fun and sometimes surprisingly emotional ways.

All seasons are at least decent, if not very good, with solid pacing, worldbuilding, and a likeable tone throughout.

3 Seasons total of 72 episodes + 1 Movie and OVAs (lost count of OVAs)

Season 4 and 2nd movie confirmed
Log Horizon
TV, 2013, 25 eps Me:- Author:9
A standout among isekai for its deep worldbuilding and political intrigue. Focuses less on combat and more on social structures, strategy, and rebuilding society within an MMO-like world. Fight scenes when present are still very cool.

The protagonist isn’t overpowered in a traditional sense, but relies on intellect, negotiation, and clever planning, giving it a unique tone among isekai anime.

Sadly, the story will likely remain incomplete, as the light novel author has been on indefinite hiatus since 2018.
Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari
TV, 2019, 25 eps Me:- Author:8
Solid fantasy with good worldbuilding and a strong take on the "Ostracised Protagonist" trope. The main character is thrown into a new world only to be betrayed and shunned almost immediately, setting up a darker, more personal story of redemption and growth.

Action, politics, and emotional moments are fairly well balanced, with decent pacing in the early arcs. Later seasons vary in reception but hold up reasonably well overall.

Season 4 is expected in Summer 2025.
Mushoku Tensei: Isekai Ittara Honki Dasu
TV, 2021, 11 eps Me:- Author:8
Probably destined to be a modern classic.

A coming-of-age isekai epic that follows the MC’s journey — both emotional and magical — from birth to late teens by the end of Season 2. It explores everything from personal growth to the trauma he carries from his former life.

Darker and heavier than many typical isekai entries, with strong worldbuilding and introspective storytelling. Fight scenes are spaced out, but when they hit, they hit hard.

The main light novel series is already completed, making it one of the rare long-running isekai that could potentially receive a full adaptation from start to finish. Fingers crossed.

Season 3 is confirmed
Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka
TV, 2015, 13 eps Me:- Author:8
A coming-of-age story about an underdog adventurer striving to become a hero in a dangerous, god-filled world.

A fantasy dungeon-crawling adventure with RPG mechanics, character growth, and escalating stakes. Includes light romance and harem elements, but maintains a focus on personal development, loyalty, and ambition.

Multiple seasons available, with solid pacing and worldbuilding that deepens as the series progresses.
Tsuki ga Michibiku Isekai Douchuu
TV, 2021, 12 eps Me:- Author:7
A more light-hearted spin on the classic "Ostracised Protagonist" trope. The MC is rejected by a goddess and tossed aside, only to become OP and start building a society of his own — monster companions included.

Plenty of humour, over-the-top power moments, and evolving relationships, with worldbuilding that draws strong parallels to Tensura (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime).

A fun watch with just enough depth to keep things engaging.

Season 3 is confirmed
Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu
TV, 2016, 25 eps Me:- Author:8
is thrust into a fantasy world and discovers he has a unique ability: when he dies, he returns to a “save point,” essentially reliving events in a time loop.
MC is put through the wringer emotionally and physically, and the story doesn’t shy away from portraying the effects of trauma, PTSD, and depression. Despite its fantasy setting, Re:Zero dives deep into the human psyche, showing how repeated failure and despair can affect someone. It can get quite dark at times, especially in its more intense arcs, but that’s also what gives it weight.

Not your typical light-hearted isekai—it’s more of a psychological and emotional rollercoaster wrapped in magic, politics, and mystery.

3 Seasons have been aried - 66 eps in total + 2 OVAs.
Season 4 confirmed
Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou
TV, 2019, 13 eps Me:- Author:7
MC turns from average schoolboy into a gun-wielding, monster-devouring survivalist. Comedic fun with and can be over the top at times.

Season 1 suffers from clunky CG and rushed pacing, but the series gradually finds its footing in later seasons. By Season 3, it settles into a smoother groove with better animation and more cohesive storytelling.

Overall a fun watch with a slightly dark twist - if you can get past the lolicon fanservice.
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works
TV, 2014, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
A good take on the VN. Cool fight scenes, tells a more complete story than the 2010 movie. The epilogue special is a nice touch.
Sword Art Online
TV, 2012, 25 eps Me:- Author:8
The first season starts strong, with the Aincrad Arc in particular standing out as a compelling survival-fantasy story with high emotional stakes. Later arcs shift tone and setting, and while they’re not bad by any means, they don’t quite capture the same magic as Season 1.

That said, the series continues to deliver solid worldbuilding, high production values, and character growth, especially in Alicization.

The light novel series is still ongoing, with the Unital Ring arc in progress, so there's still hope for a complete adaptation in the years ahead. Fingers crossed.
Overlord
TV, 2015, 13 eps Me:- Author:7
An insanely OP MC gets trapped in a video game world and begins building an empire — not as a hero, but as an increasingly feared undead overlord.

Blends dark fantasy, political intrigue, and brutal conquest with moments of dry humour and loyalty-driven character interactions.

The light novel series is complete, but it’s still unclear whether the entire story will be adapted in anime form.
Genjitsu Shugi Yuusha no Oukoku Saikenki
TV, 2021, 13 eps Me:- Author:8
A diagloue heavy isekai but intersting enough to keep me watching.

Very few battles. Focuses on political intrigue, social structures, world/Kingdom building and technology implemtation.
Grancrest Senki
TV, 2018, 24 eps Me:- Author:7
A decent standalone fantasy story with solid worldbuilding and political intrigue. The setting offers a rich blend of noble alliances, magical warfare, and shifting power dynamics.

The pacing can feel rushed, especially in the middle and final arcs, which compress a lot of material into a short run.

If you're expecting a full adaptation of the light novels, you'll likely be disappointed — but judged on its own merits, it’s still a worthwhile watch for fans of classic fantasy war stories.
Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!
TV, 2016, 10 eps Me:- Author:7
An isekai parody comedy that absolutely does not take itself seriously.

A dysfunctional party, over-the-top antics, and a world that actively mocks typical isekai tropes make this a hilarious, self-aware experience. The story does have more depth as the seasons progress. Movie was good too.

I watch it for the laughs mostly but still a fairly decent tale.

3 season with 30 episodes in total + 1 Movie.
Death March kara Hajimaru Isekai Kyousoukyoku
TV, 2018, 12 eps Me:- Author:8
The first season was a decent watch. Typical MC gets thrown into a game/RPG like world with OP cheat level powers. The kind hearted MC saves slaves trope.

Only 1 season aired so far. Season 2 is confirmed to be in production though.
