I'm starting to slightly like the assistant coach a bit. For one thing, he may act a bit rude but he is genuinely interested in the team's development.

More buildup this episode with Eijun's pitching.
Did he improve? Eh....not entirely but he has a firm grip.

I like how Eijun threw a rage with a ridiculous failed attempt for a play lolol

Finally Sawamura is really getting some screen time. Though im getting a bit pissed that he ALWAYS have to fail. I understand that it wouldnt be fun if he did well every time, but cant he just one time make a close to flawless game against tough opponents?

Idk why, but I was covered by bliss when everyone was surprised to see Sawamura's new pitches. Seeing how it breaks, it really would be amazing to see it in the games. Though my favourite part is probably how his past experience of changing grips had really come to be useful.

Using that for the first time and making everybody embarrassed, though some did catch on.

That failed pitch really ruined it for me D:

I was so damn HYPU!!! Sawamura on a roll scoring left and right. If he really just succeeded with his changeup that would've been so epic OTL

Sucks that we're gonna have to wait to see the Breaking balls and people's reactions :(

At least seeing Ochiai's first reaction and Chris realizing it was nice enough

Of course. Ochiai has never seen Sawamura's original moving pitch. He's only seen the current Sawamura, a guy who only has a slow, somewhat moving fastball that is saved only by his weird pitching form. No wonder he never put much faith in Sawamura.

Lets just ignore the fact that he's not used to throwing his changeup in a game yet, and look at the rest of the picture.

Nobody throws such a good off speed which is taught overnight unless with huge talent, whether if its just in the pen or not.

Not to mention he can throw more than one variety of it, and from his grips that worked, he has thrown a circle changeup (the grip with the ok sign), a palmball(the one which does not slow as much), and a Vulcan changeup (the one hold between his middle finger and ring finger), and a straight change (the one gripped with all 5 fingers around the ball) that's 4 variations which could work, when people usually take loads of time to master just 1 type.

Not to mention he can alter his pitches velocity and break without any form change at all, in scouting reports that would mean his pitches have extremely high deception, hitters cannot determine the pitch thrown by observing his form, nor can they see his grip, making all his pitches goes up a notch in effectiveness.

good command with the fastball, a cut fastball, and off speed with deception, cant say furuya is the better pitcher now.

Ok maybe I'm a bigger baseball nerd than most people around, but really, I'm excited man, I'm excited.

he definitely has a lot of potential, but he can't control his emotions and makes a ton of mistakes because of that.

Hm I was expecting the screw up with his first changeup attempt in a game, cant help it if he's too excited to throw a new pitch, once he settles in and gain some experience he should be hella fine.

Hopefully his changeup is actually useful in games and at least the focus has switched from Furuya to Sawamura for now xD It made me laugh when Sawamura threw the fail ball, too. Loved it and waiting in anticipation for the next episode!

I just hope he doesnt become too good and far too better than furuya. I dont want furuya to fall behind either. It will be crazy to have 2 aces, especially such different ones. One with speed and one with movement, Fuck im excited. But its probably a long way from now. Apparently the manga has a second part which just started, so we are in for a hell of a ride

"I have to relax!" *cue demonic face*

I literally jumped when I saw that, and my hand hit the mousepad to pause the video on reflex.

To be honest, I didn't expect him to be able to throw it in a game right away. Not because he's Sawamura, but because he's literally never thrown that pitch in a game. It's so much different than throwing it to practice. I think that by the end of this match, he'll be able to throw it with a reasonable amount of confidence. However, learning all of these pitches is really making him stand out.

If this keeps going, and he keeps learning at this rate, he could become better than Furuya, who, if I'm recalling correctly, has only one pitch. Furuya better watch out, otherwise he's not going to have that ace bib anymore.

He's learning. If you taught a completely new pitch to someone with incredible pitching talent, I don't think even they could get it right away. This failure will teach him a lesson. You can't get anywhere without making a few mistakes.

I am so glad Sawamura can know pitch like he wanted to at first, now we just have to wait for him to get used to it and be able to use it in a game. Favorite part of the episode was Chris noticing right away that Sawamura was doing a change up! It's so nice to see him again! I really want Seido to win mostly because of Sawamura and have Chris congratulate him afterwards!

That fail pitch was kinda expected, but it was still really funny haha. However I was still hoping that he wouldn't mess up that pitch since Chris is there and it's his chance do show off to him and make him feel proud. Oh well, though I'm quite confident that he's going to throw at least a few successful change up later in the game.
Excited for the next episode!

Looks like we'll have to hold on a little while longer. With his arsenal expanded, looks like he's finally on the road to being a true ace.

And of course, would it really be Sawamura if he got there without a gaffe or three?

Sawamura's change up pitches are so exciting and different. Heck, it even surprised Ochiai and Miyuki couldn't catch a few of those breaks. Whenever Sawamura can master them all, he'll be amazing. For the first time, I'm starting to really like Ochiai now, especially because he has some interest in Sawamura now and it's just putting him to the side.

Seidou vs Ouya match begins and Sawamura was off to a great start with his fastballs. It was nice to see Chris-senpai appear to watch. Sawamura tried to throw his off-speed pitch but it failed miserably and embarrassed everyone. xD Seems like the Ouya runners are already pressuring Sawamura. Come on, you can do it~

It's nice to see back his original moving ball pitch ...the difference in movement in his change-up with his 4-seamer was shown very clearly..Even Miyuki can't catch it at first try

So proud of Eijun for being able to pitch different variations of the change up, even if it didn't go well (yet) in an actual game. The potential is there at least, and it'll be fun to see him mastering these pitches. We all knew it was coming, but I still found it funny when Eijun failed very hard. Everyone's reaction was priceless XD Also, Ochiai really is great at teaching, although he really didn't that Eijun could pitch like that, and he may even reevaluate Eijun's usefulness to the team! That's a big step forward.

Wow, I was so happy when everyone was surprised at Sawamura's practice pitching. Miyuki especially. The break of the ball looked kind of magical... y'know with the sparkles and all, but it was awesome nonetheless. I love how Sawamura didn't notice himself, but everyone was amazed for a moment. :D

I got embarrassed too when he failed, except I was laughing really hard. XD

So Eijun was able to throw that change up after all plus a few extras surprising even Ochiai who didn't seem to expect anything (that pause was telling lol).

In the match with Ouya, I loved how Eijun was pitching like he was in the zone.It seemed that learning the change up was not only good in obtaining a winning shot but for polishing up his fastball. Then, there was that failed change up and now they're in a pinch. The oponents seem to be taking advantage of it. I hope Eijun doesn't get too agitated and manages to get the last out without giving up too many runs.

Yay Sawamura learned a breaking ball (Change Up). I sorta feel like Oya is basically a boring team that could easily be a filler team. They have a irritating guy (Go). They have short practices. I hope they have some sort of motivating story to make me kinda feel excited to watch the next few episodes of them. I probably liked Sakurazawa from last season better just judging from the start of this Oya vs Seido match.
