We saw the culprit right off the bat this time, but well, what's going on with Rumi is more interesting anyway. |

| Back to a couple of canon episodes. As soon as Conan said they were going to Gunma during the opening, I was already letting out an exasperated sigh. Surprising that inspector Yamamura hit the nail right on the head. The cardboard was a simple cover up. Diverting their attention and then having Ayumi search for her earring had the same purpose. However, did she move the car some how? If so, how? Did she pull something while being on the ground or something. On another note, Ayumi is so considerate. Surprised these kids haven't thought worse of adults after all the things they've been through (filler episode or not). Did Wakasa date him? She might not be Rum but she has some relation to "that" case. さすが、この殺人事件はだんだん楽しくなる。それに、あの『先生』のことをもっと知りたいと思う。次のヒントはお守りか？ふむ。。。あの事件は関係ある？ |

| That Urusei Yatsura name drop from Conan...for the reunion of the VAs of Ataru Moroboshi and Lum on this show (or at least I think it's the first time Yamamura and Wakasa meet here). And if I am not mistaking we had this name drop in the manga too. (Aoyama-sensei likes his VA jokes.) |
| Ehh...it's no fun if they already show who the culprit is right off the bat. The trick was also too simple as well. Oh well, I'm more interested in Rumi's character anyway. |
| A little bit annoyed they already showed who the killer is. That just makes it a question of how the killer pulled off the sudden body appearance, which really isn't that hard to guess. If there would have been multiple suspects, then it would have added a lot more of a mystery to this case. Either way, the main highlight of this case is to give us a glimpse of the real Rumi, which got off on a decent and intriguing start. I am still not super invested in her character, but perhaps next episode will give us more. |

| Yeah, appreciated the Urusei Yatsura reference. There's actually a Lum/Rum drawing from Aoyama-sensei himself you can find online. Clearly a fan, and who could blame him? Also this one is more of a Columbo-inspired case where the how is the mystery and you see the culprit right off the bat. Honestly I wouldn't mind if we got cases like this a bit more often. It makes for a nice change of pace. |
