tell me how this makes sense. These two âMIDDLE SCHOOLâ students are progressing faster in their romance than COLLEGE STUDENTS. AND YES I AM TALKING ABOUT RENT A GIRLFRIEND. |

definitely one of the best chapters of BokuYaba. PEAAAKKKK, It's so sad if we compare this middle school romance manga with other "adult" romance manga which have very slow progress. i guess BokuYaba is too good for this romance genre. |

Incredible peak chapter yet again. These last three chapters, the home date arc, if you will, have been peak BokuYaba, literally all I want from the story. If the IchiYama flirting slows down for a while after this, Iâll always highly cherish 155-157 đđ This chapter specifically had everything I hoped for within reason (obvs they werenât gonna do it), but more kissing, touching, cuddling, and my goat Ichikawa FINALLY touched Yamadaâs chest legitimately, just so good. The one thing I wouldâve loved to see was Ichikawa calling Yamada âAnna,â but I guess we can still look forward to that. The punchline/pay off though, idk something about it makes me feel a bit off. Donât get me wrong, I think Ichikawa releasing after all this kissing and heightened sexual atmospheres makes total sense in story, (I mean anyone would if a sexy model like Yamada suddenly got on top wearing what she was and kissing them), but I just hope my young king doesnât get cooked for it is all Iâm trying to say lol. This was a huge W for them both honestly. Now back to the grind, hopefully we can start resolving the exam and agency stuff fairly quickly so we can get back to at home flirting đđ (I apologize for the long reply I donât intend for this lol) |

Absolute fantastic chapter! Thatâs why I love this series, and itâs my favorite RomCom, because it has the courage to tackle topics that most works of this genre tend to avoid or treat superficially, like the sexual development and curiosity of an adolescent couple. Letâs be honest, at this age, everyone starts to develop an interest in the opposite sex, and it's frustrating to see so many RomComs create adolescent characters that are so âperfect/pureâ that they never think about having relationships or even show any physical attraction toward each other (to the point of seeming asexual). It's tiring and unrealistic. Donât even get me started on works that skip over this entire process of emotional growth and discovery and go straight from confession to marriage. Thanks to Norio, Bokuyaba is not like that. I love how Norio hints at several things in this chapter: 1-Itâs obvious that they are still not ready, neither mentally nor physically, but they both want to try to reciprocate each other. As a result, they show signs of awkwardness and inexperience while trying, and even some frustration. 2-There is attraction between both of them, and a significant advancement in intimacy, trust and complicity, now even reaching the point of being able to touch private parts of each other's bodies, like Annaâs breasts. I wouldnât be surprised if soon itâs Anna who starts touching Kyoutarouâs body more. 3-How Kyoutarou is gradually taking more initiative in the relationship. Itâs been visible for a while now, but even more so now, and thatâs why the dynamic between them is so good. Thereâs no âone who is always passive and another who is always active.â They take turns in these roles from time to time, or both become very active at the same time, taking the initiative in different parts of the story. In any case, I'm very surprised that there are people who feel disappointed because there was no sex, I mean, they are just teenagers of 14/15 years old, I understand that on this side of the pond it is more normal to see boys of this age having intimate relationships (mainly Latin America), but it is a cultural thing, the Japanese are much more conservative, it is obvious that they still have to go through a process of emotional discovery and acceptance in which both can put their feelings in "sync" with their desire, and I think that is what this arc will be about. One thing is for sure: the sex will come. I donât know if it will be explicit or not (probably not), but Iâm sure that Norio will dare to show more than what we usually see in most mangas. You know, those that "want to show you something" but, at the end of the day, show nothing, limiting themselves to a couple of panels with the protagonists hugging or lying in bed, then skipping to the next day and leaving everything to interpretation. To finish, I read a comment that I agree with, and itâs that Norio is likely trying to fit the "end of a hypothetical third season" with the episode where they will finally have sexual intimacy. It would be a spectacular way to close the third season, but I still believe theyâre too young and should experience more things together first. But well, Norio knows what heâs doing, and I know he wonât disappoint me. What is certain is that he has already laid the groundwork so that when the act happens, it will feel much more natural and meaningful. |

@sauragorn10 Hey, no worries! Itâs always nice to chat about this series with others, haha. Are you by any chance referring to the comment by "OKKA", right? If so, Iâve read it too, and I think it brings up some interesting points and a perspective that might be on the right track. However, I donât agree with their take that this could be a setback in their relationship. I see it more as a small obstacle that Norio will probably address in this next arcâthe challenge of aligning their feelings with their desire to fully give themselves to each other, without feeling obligated to do so. I really like this aspect. Itâs obvious that their first more intimate moment wouldnât go much further. As I said before, theyâre young and inexperienced. But this experience (which might seem negative from the perspective of "not being able to go through with it" but also positive in the sense that theyâre now more aware and free to explore each otherâs bodies) will help them overcome the insecurities and doubts they currently have. I also donât think this will cause any major issues with Annaâs parents, even if they find out that Kyou spent the night at her house. Theyâve already shown themselves to be pretty understanding parents. In fact, Annaâs mom once told her that when she was young, she also got into a lot of "mischief" and lied to her parents (in the episode where Annaâs phone fell into the water). So, at most, I think we might see Annaâs dad give them a scolding or maybe even have a conversation with Kyoutarou about Anna and this whole situation. |

@GonXalo That is exactly what Iâm referring to!!! Wow, itâs great that you understand me perfectly! Yes, I completely agree with what you said here. I was very put off by the claim that this is going to regress their relationship, or they made some kind of critical mistake. Like I understand the claim that âthey didnât make a spiritual connectionâ this chapter, but honestly I would argue they did last time, I mean with Ichikawa saying they should just say what they want to do with each other, and Yamada pouring her honest feelings out to Ichikawa, that was an emotional connection, and then clearly the focus was on their physical intimacy in this chapter. As you said, theyâre young and inexperienced, this was their first significant sexual encounter as a couple, naturally theyâre both awkward and deferring responsibilities to each other, but they still made very tangible progress with each other. I mean, Ichikawa is being more proactive with expressing his love more than ever, Yamada was explicitly honest to Ichikawa (and the readers), which is not too common to see, and she is trying to make it happen the best she can, and the fact they went a bit further but didnât go all the way should keep them both motivated to try again. Saying they made no growth or progress is a narrow minded and unfair opinion to me. I just thought OKKA was being too critical and overly focused on the negative possibilities, because almost everything he said beyond reacting to what happened was him making assumptions, like about Yamadaâs parents, Ichikawa and Yamadaâs personal perceptions of this event after the fact, Ichikawaâs future studying, and whether or not Yamada has any regret or not. Bottom line is Iâm sure they both probably feel a bit embarrassed, but they spent quality time together which they both wanted, and then Iâm sure when itâs time to try again theyâll be a lot smoother with doing the deed. Also I donât think Yamada wasted her special underwear lol, she can always wear it again anyway. Itâs an experience that illustrates their youth, itâs not the end of the world or the beginning of total fire and brimstone, I just didnât like that angle that OKKA took. I think Yamadaâs parents losing their minds would be unfair, I mean at the end of the day theyâre dating, itâs only natural they would get lovey dovey at home, and they didnât actually have sex so they didnât cross that line. At worst they should get a light scolding and advice, some people on Twitter are worried Ichikawa is gonna get banned from Yamadaâs home, or Yamada is going to be completely banned from seeing Ichikawa, and that everything thatâs happened the last 3 chapters was all a mistake. Thatâs simply ridiculous to me. I mean would we rather have Ichikawa and Yamadaâs avoid each other all day long and grimace over not seeing each other at all? I also take issue with people saying theyâre being dishonest with each other, I mean what more do they need? Ichikawa and Yamada are making very clear and honest statements and physical moves with each other but people still think that Yamada is not telling the truth or manipulating Ichikawa, and Ichikawa just doesnât really care that much, doesnât really want to do anything with Yamada, and is just going with the flow, thatâs all very strange to me. Obviously there are still big things to solve, namely the exam, the agency, and telling the school theyâre dating (at least I hope, I want them to avenge the flash mob incident), but I have complete faith theyâre gonna be fine. I was just shaken because some people, like OKKA who is a popular account on Twitter, have gone from being super happy and excited over this home date, myself included of course Iâve been calling for this ever since the flash mob chapter, to now people are second guessing everything and think theyâve done nothing, made no progress, and this was all meaningless. That is depressing to be honest, it makes me sad and uneasy so I wish those anxieties and fears are not actually reflected in the story. I donât expect a completely smooth road but I hope Norio doesnât blow this all up. Sorry for the super long message but Iâm glad you knew where Iâm coming from! |

Whoah are they even allow to do it? I mean, isnt theyre like 14?! Its romantic though because theyre so innocent. I feel pathetic that I first touched a girls bewbs and "did it" at age of 20, smh Also, damn Yamada size is something else. And it will continue to grow from this point onward. I dont even read this manga (or watched the anime) but I just saw this chapter because theyre taunting rent a gf, who are adults and yet still cant do segs. |

@sauragorn10 I agree with many of the things youâre saying. Besides, weâre talking about Norio. I fully trust her. I know sheâs not going to ruin her work by adding unnecessary or melodramatic conflicts just to delay resolutions. Sheâll handle this situation in a mature and natural way, as sheâs done throughout the story. Sheâs never introduced any unnecessary element that only serves to interfere with the progress of the relationship. Everything sheâs included in her story has been to help the protagonists grow and strengthen their emotional bond. This time wonât be an exception. |

@GonXalo I fully agree, I did start to get frustrated towards the end of volume 11, and rather noisy about it lol, but ever since chapter 154 Iâve been uplifted with hope and I honestly have unwavering faith in the mangaâs future and the future for this lovely couple! I do agree that I think everything will be addressed and resolved in legitimate, fair, and mature ways by Norio. Thank you so much by the way, I really enjoyed this exchange with you! This timing was great since as you could tell, OKKAâs post threw me for a loop lol, for the record I really like and respect OKKA, thatâs why I was so shattered and surprised, but I guess this kind of thing is inevitable eventually. In the meantime letâs keep supporting Ichikawa and Yamada and this excellent manga! đđđŸ |

Amazing chapter. English dropped today. Yamada still seems to be the one more pushing the physical side. Is Ichikawa still unsure of himself or her, or is he wisely playing the long game? On second reading I noticed on pg 8 Ichikawa interrupts her as she is starting to take off her bra. Yamada is crying at the end; from disappointment? Fantastic work from Norio-sensei. |

Sakurai Norio just baiting the doujins to fill in the gaps for the alternate universes đ I just LOL on how Nikorigawa suddenly morphs to indicate current 'hardness'. |

I love how Norio hints at several things in this chapter:
1-Itâs obvious that they are still not ready, neither mentally nor physically, but they both want to try to reciprocate each other.

Not gonna lie, his imagination on page 2 in this very chapter is already way more than I'd expect to be shown LOL |

really great chapter... I wish more mangĂĄs address this sort of stuff... really bother me how most romance mangĂĄ either completely ignore the existence of any sexual desire (like someone already commented) or restrict it to ecchi fanservice... what we still get here, sure, but I feel like this chapter's focus is more the characters experience... they even mock the usual artistic beautiful interpretation of sex, XD... yes! gimme first times with the characters being clumsy, and not knowing how to act... yeah, that I can relate now... I little doubt about the end... did he really come, or that panel before the one with the building, was just them surprised the day was already rising? because the extra page after seems to imply the "joke" was that they spend too much time in each "stage", and the whole night passed without them noticing ps: Yamada was about to take off her bra and Ichikawa interrupted, XD |

@Ronin-errante Hello, just a quick note on your P.S. bit, Yamada wasnât taking off her bra for sexual purposes, she was trying to change into her sleepwear since she thought Ichikawa fell asleep. I think at that moment she probably felt the chance had gone, but probably better Ichikawa interrupted before it was all the way off đđ |

Okay, wow! It sure got steamy in the end there, lmao. Why does it have to be the middle school setting? I wish we could get like quickly through the middle school years and enter high school soon... It's hard to see bigger developments than this now. |

Hey now say now What you'll quickly find out is that people will dream up elaborate sounding copes in attempts to deflect and glaze questionable behavior, frankly that's what addicts do, I love this manga, it was going in the right direction the puppy love, the awkwardness, that is all well and good and warrants equally gorgeous panels but I suppose that wasn't enough because people just had to see adolescent children bone, you even get people on here meat ridding each other like this is some thought provoking revolutionary shit, the reason why most manga or more accurately western forms of comics skims through visually depicting "kids" naked is that nobody needs to see that, its not for a lack of know-how, its just insinuated that okay this faze happened there is no need for visual representation of adolescent sex, any argument for is just plain degeneracy. |

tell me how this makes sense. These two âMIDDLE SCHOOLâ students are progressing faster in their romance than COLLEGE STUDENTS. AND YES I AM TALKING ABOUT RENT A GIRLFRIEND.
@mrjdko You've not heard of teenage pregnancy, then? The hardest thing to believe here is that they didn't actually have sex. That, my friend, is a couple of iron wills right there. If they ever get their hands on a large European army we're all in trouble. |
