The purpose of this is to highlight the work of certain visionaries within this medium. The works I chose for each person are not always their first/breakout hit, but moreso what they could be known for by people who don't recognize them by name. If you have any suggestions or believe I've omitted someone really important, please leave a comment on my profile and I'll try to update this promptly.

I'd also like to mention that just like all film/TV, it's a group effort, and there are numerous contributors to everything. I don't necessarily subscribe to auteur theory, but I do organize movies/shows in my head based on who I think "wrote" them. Just remember that more than one person made these works, and that valuable work is behind each name you read when the credits roll.
